(Now officially begins the Daily Thunder weekly podcast and it’s tentatively called The Rumbling Herd. Lame? Heck yes. But what is a guy to do? Stealing from Colin Cowherd just made sense to me. It was between that and The Rumble Report, which my wife liked. Or just Thundercast which is almost as boring as Daily Thunder. But I’m the paterfamilias so I choose. Anyway, we’ve had podcasts here on Daily Thunder in the past, but this here marks the start of a weekly one that will run through the season and on into the rest of eternity. Hope you like.)
On today’s episode (which is actually going to be a two-parter):
- Adam Brown, producer of Sonicsgate, lends some time to discuss the film
- A little reaction on the film. Hopefully this movie can kind of wrap up this whole Seattle/OKC issue we’ve faced for the past year.
- Talking about the Ford Center’s improvements
In part two, I’ll have a little conversation with Sonicsgate director, Jason Reid. You’re welcome for the oversaturation of Sonicsgate. I enjoyed the film, alright? I’ll have that up later this week. Anyway, hope you like and while there’s some kinks in it (like the 15 second silence after the interview), hopefully it will get better. The sound isn’t excellent, but I’ll try and make the necessary adjustments. And if my voice makes you want to vomit, email me and I’ll transcribe the whole thing for you. (Kidding, obviously. Don’t email me.)

Wow. I'm amazed by the amount of work you put into this blog. I've been waiting for a good thunder podcast because i love listening to them when doing chores. I'll probably watch sonicsgate first and then the podcast.
If you want more choices...
Rumbling Thunder
Thunder Rumbles
Thunder Rumbling
Rumble On...(insert topic)
The Thunder Rumble
Got Thunder, Will Rumble
Rumbling Til It Thunders
ThundeRumble #(1,2, etc.)
Maybe a bit in the show could be The Royce Report
or whatever
So the name's not a hit... my wife is smiling. She didn't like it. Good thing I said "tentatively."
why not just call it 'the daily thunder podcast?' i know it's kinda generic, but it's self-explanatory... after i downloaded it (thanks for that by-the-way) i had to remember what it was called...
@Mully Mulls
Yeah, can't beat going to a game at Safeco or Qwest and seeing downtown, the mountains and miles of blue sky and water.
You forgot to say "you're on the subway fresh take hotline" oh...wait wrong podcast
Actually just finished the movie. Very well done. I also liked the podcast. The name needs revamping, but your voice is okay. :)
So, instead of just Part 1 of SonicsGate, I had to watch the entire thing. INCREDIBLE depiction of what happened with very tastefully done interviews and what seems to be a reasonable overall view of the situation with accountable finger-pointing directed at BOTH sides. (Sorry for the long sentence). Did anybody else notice how gorgeous their stadiums looked with their skyline? WOW! Definately a progressive city! (HINT, HINT, Keep that in mind on December 8th!) Also the soundtrack was pretty damn good too, as mentioned before. This movie made me feel for the fans of Seattle, but makes me equally excited about our own tradition (hopefully a winning one soon) that we are growing ourselves, even if we're starting with a GAWD-AWFUL slogan. I'm still gonna say Rise Together but that's just me.
I think Sonicsgate would have been funnier as a slapstick comedy, but it's still pretty funny as a parody.
@Nix
Have to one-up you Nix... how about Sergesaurus Rex...BOOYAH!!!
@GAP
Ha thanks.
I've always hated my voice, especially when I have to listen to it.
Wow Royce, you're pretty funny at times and your voice isn't what I would've thought it would sound like (in a good no homo way) all in all this podcast will be another Presti-esc move by you for the site!
How about we just change that to Russasaurus Rex...BOOOMMM
If it counts for anything I came up for the best nickname for Blake Griffin...Blakeasaurus Rex...BOOMMMM
Hey thanks for wishing me a happy two year anniversary of my nickname. Grow up you clown. Let this bear roar.
@dylan
Damn you beat me to it! On an unrelated note, Serge has joined Jet Zero, and Durantula in the pantheon of Thunder players that could potententially ellict a "Wholly $&*t!!!!!" from me any time they are on the floor.
I will give a listen after work. Rumble Report sounds okay. I don't like herds. Herds tend to poo.
One other point I wanted to toss in about my reaction to Sonicsgate that I kind of asked to Adam, but wanted to say again:
What's become very clear is that while multiple parties were to blame. the city of Seattle, whether it be legislature or taxpayers, weren't willing to take the steps necessary to keep the team. Clay Bennett happened to have come and taken the team but KeyArena's lease is up this year and no owner would step into a money losing situation so it's very likely if not Clay Bennett, another owner would have moved the team.
Nice job, enjoyed the interview. And as a huge fan of Coke Zero, it was another highlight of the evening yesterday.
Nice work, Russ.
I happen to like Sierra Mist.
Adam was a great score. I can't really imagine the time and effort that went into producing that movie. The movie is free, so all those hours they put into it are out of their own pockets. That alone is incredible.
I don't know their situation in life, but there's no way I could do that AND keep my day job. Kudos to all involved with Sonicsgate. If it's anything other than a movie, it's a testament to your devotion.
@Clark Matthews
Right on. Considering we came from Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Sierra Mist to Coke, Diet Coke, Mr. Pibb and Sprite, that's a MAJOR upgrade.
THUNDERCAST HO
Agree. Sierra Mist is nasty. The switchover to Coke is the most underrated upgrade at the Ford Center.
@Lefty
Dang. I should've brought in a creative team to help me. This would have been a good idea.

Also, Thundercast would be so great, because you could totally just rip off the Thundercats sound track for intro music.

@Lefty
Appreciate it. I do my best.
Man, Royce, the quality of this blog just blows me away. Seriously. I don't even care if the podcast isn't perfect (won't get to listen til after work), but you just do an excellent job. Kudos.
That would be awesome and very much appreciated! Looking forward to listening!
@Royce
That'd be awesome if you'd be able to do that.
@Shane
I'm in the process of getting that done. I'll throw up a download link if you'd like and you can just get the .mp3 and put it into iTunes.
Will these be available via iTunes also?
@Dane
You win. I laughed out loud.
You should call it "Thunderin' Up with Royce."
