Kevin Durant is your 2009-10 scoring champ

by Royce Young on April 14, 2010 at 12:50 pm 23 Comments

With Brian Windhorst reporting that LeBron won’t play tonight in the Cavs regular season finale, the scoring title race is over. Kevin Durant is now the youngest scoring champion ever in NBA history.

LeBron is averaging 29.710 points per game (2258 in 76 games). Kevin Durant sits currently at 30.135 (2441 in 81 games). So tonight, with Durant playing and LeBron sitting, Durant would have to score negative five points in order to lose the scoring title. That’s right, KD need not score tonight to take it home.

However, in order to stay above 30 a game, KD needs 19 points. So that means he should have that done by halftime, right?

I'm not a die hard any team fan, Kevin Durant and the team are great, being a Laker fan doesn't maker me a hater for another team, especially when they are such great guys! I would actually want to talk to K. Durant, have a beer, if he drinks, heck have a cup o' joe. Just being in SoCal used to no NFL we gotta be open-minded! I LOve the Thunder, Lakers #2.

J.Soto... I agree Durant is a maginficent player.. However, we do not have enough rings... should I remind you that the celtics still hold that title....? No True Laker fan would ever root for another team, it's never enough for us, we have a dynasty to uphold.

Actually, I think we should give the title to LBJ because if he really wanted the scoring title he would have it.

(just kidding, just kidding...I'm being sarcastic based on the last Thunder Bolts thread...calm down)

I am from Los Angeles. Last year was the first time I saw Durant play close-up Again this year I was lucky enough to see him play -Kevin Durant is sooooooooo great! I wished he was a Laker until I heard an interview with him , he is so nice-he wants to give his gift to OKC and he loves it there-glad he didn't go Hollywood! Most of us real Californians aren't Hollywood. We love Kevin as must as you guys! Continued success for the whole team and I will continue to root for OKC even if they play the Lakers-(they have enough rings) :)

yeah that is a decent markup on the cheap seats.

@PNT
yeah, there are some 13k full time season ticket holders, but then half season and ten game package holders also had a chance at seats, so very few tickets will be left and they will sell really fast. the seats next to mine are always resold, whoever owns them never goes, so im sure they will be scalping the tickets for a huge profit.

My ticket rep said that there will be around 1k-2k available on Friday. Season Ticket holders (like myself) :) have the rest.

we will sell out for sure its more like how fast to they go, and how much do scalpers end up charging.

5 more free throws without missing and he's at 90%.

does anyone have any idea when the playoff schedule is being released?

durant should make enough free throws to get to 90%, then see how many assists he can get
