the missed dunk by westbrook made me cring though... he should have and could have just laid it in.

Curry actually guarded Rubio better than Rose did. He played him well. I also thought Billups was a liability down the stretch. He's not as good defensively with the 34 yr old legs and if he's not hitting his perimeter shot he's not much good to us. Westbrook outplayed him last night. I like Rose, Westbrook and Durant out there together. That's a lot of speed and athleticism on the court at once. They can really push the ball with that lineup.

@Greg
I think Coach K would keep all forwards and cut Curry.Maybe Curry is not 100% ok.Gordon is a good shooter and stranger than Curry.So Curry is the 13st in player list

Greg

@justin
I think Granger should, and will be cut.

Russ has played great the last two games. I hope he makes the cut but with all the PG's and the need for shooters like Curry / Gordon, I'm not optimistic.

I think Granger should be cut.

Why is this offered on Itunes if everytime the download finishes it says there is an error?

While he was a definite asset to the team, I saw a lot of "bad" Westbrook in Rose yesterday. You know how Westbrook gets when things aren't going well and he tries to do it all himself? Rose was out if control like that a good part of the second half.

I kind of think Eric Gordon may be the odd man out. Curry is such a good shooter that I think they may be willing to live with his defensive liabilities.

Rose is a poor defender. That's been the case both years he's played. In some respects it's like KD's first two years. It's going to be a problem in some games, but he should also be able to put points up easier than just about everyone else on the team - because KD will be swarmed every game, Rose will have less pressure. I think Westbrook makes the team now, not because of his increased offense in the last couple games, but because it's becoming obvious that the youth and score-first mentality in the back court will hurt the team against better, more disciplined opponents. Yes, the Spanish team got a little home-cooking from the refs, but so too did the USA perimeter defense fail to keep opposing guards out of the lane with any consistency.

Westbrook can be a guy tossed in to stem the bleeding on the perimeter. If he's put on an opposing PG, he will hound the ball and disrupt the ease other teams have in getting in position to make plays. I think his defense off the ball still needs work, but having him guard the primary ballhandler will be just as effective as Rose's scoring prowess but lack of defense.

Thanks, glad you liked it.

Apologies for the continued problem with iPhones/iTunes. I've started checking every podcast with an mp3 validator, as well as contacting Podbean and iTunes. Podbean says it's an iPhone/iTunes problem and iTunes just never gets back to me. Still working on the problem but I'm not the greatest tech guy in the world. Martz, let me know if you are still able to get the new episode next week from your iPhone. Thanks guys.

@shiki=4 seasons

Putting Rose in the starting lineup definitely helped USA from the get-go. They finally had a good start, and while KD did most of the heavy lifting, Rose had a big part in it. He actually did a good job defending in the first half, but definitely slacked off at the end of the game. I wouldn't call him MVP either, but it wouldn't be the craziest thing either.

Anyways, this wknd better have locked up a spot for Russ. And ppl still think he should be the one cut (just check out the commentary on today's recap). Good for Russ for playing hard regardless

Krstic Waaattcchh!!! Loved it :D

Rose played 3 good minutes to close the game.... the rest of the time, he was letting Rubio walk all over him.

He made some really nice plays late, but it's pretty easy for a good NBA PG to get to the rim when Billups, Durant, Igy and Odom are spacing the floor..... tell me who you cheat off of.... Any one of the 12,000 PG's on this team could have made those same plays at the end.

Anyway, Durant was the only consistent offensive player in this one. Every time the team needed a bucket, he delivered. When they needed a stop, he delivered again.

KD played too many minutes as a PF.Your team have many good players,why not give him any rest?
of course,KD' minutes show how important he is in this team,he had good game.Lebron cannot win this title.KD,please get it.

@Bryan
Agreed. I'll defiantly admit I was wrong about RW at first look. I like being wrong when it comes to our team finding a leader/energy-guy like this. I'll be getting my wife a Russ DT shirt asap. She REALLY ;) likes him!

Bryan
Bryan 5pts

I'd start Odom, Igudola, Durant, Westbrook and Rondo based solely on what I saw today.

And Durant is ready... he really stepped up in this game and did it in a way that didn't require him to have the ball in his hands the entire time. He just made plays when the team needed it and let the guys play otherwise.

Bryan
Bryan 5pts

I don't see how they could possibly cut Westbrook. He brings a lot to this team as far as defense, rebounding and open court playmaking... I think Curry is going home.

Bryan
Bryan 5pts

@Cpt. C-Note
Yeah.... RW really had a nice game IMO

He is clearly one of the better defensive players

Bryan

Durant 25 on 9/16 and 10 boards.... and got the game winning block

Bryan

Durant closes the game with a block!!!!!!

Bryan

Oh.... and BTW..... Nene is injured

Bryan
Bryan 5pts

Boy, when you have Billups, Durant, Odom and Igoldula (sp?) spreading the floor.... Rose can practically walk in and score lol

Bryan
Bryan 5pts

MAN!!! What a game!!!

USA started chucking up some bad shots in the fourth and let Spain get back in the game... Kevin Durant is starting to step up and is really the only consistent threat outside of Lamar Odom who, unfortunately is having trouble guarding Mark Gasol on the other end.

Bryan
Bryan 5pts

Rubio makes and instant impact... he's going to make a really good NBA player.

I think the only player on this team that might be able to guard him is RW... but he's playing solely at the 2

Joel

@SraL
Youre darn right I would of ran if Sofo was after me. That guy could eat all of me in one sitting, and still have room or a side of fries, a coke and an apple pie. Difference is I wouldnt of tried to take his head off when he wasnt looking. But YES, I would of ran... not Brad though, they say he's got nenads of steel!!!

Bryan

KD and Gasol exchanging words.... both guys playing realllllly well

Rubio is really handling our guards.... they need to put RW on him!!

Durant shooting much better today. His release even looks smoother.

Daniel :
Navarro with a one foot runner 3 pointer….what.

That was awesome. Russ is having a hard time finishing.

RW sure is good on the boards and playing D.... but I have no idea what he was thinking with that off balance 3

Bryan

yeah... Navarro

@Cpt. C-Note
That would be nice. I kinda think they are trying to give Curry a chance to prove something.

I really hope RW gets some time on Rubio, tho

Bryan
Bryan 5pts

Durant and Odom make a nice pair.... KD has a couple really nice assists to Odom now

Bryan
Bryan 5pts

Durant is having some trouble at the 4, he's getting beat in the post and is not setting his picks very well...... no huge surprise I guess.

He is leading the team in scoring tho

Cpt. C-Note

@Bryan
Yeah. I'm ready for Russ to D-up on Rubio!

Bryan
Bryan 5pts

If anyone is interested, the USA v. Spain game is on now with a live feed on ESPN3.... Curry and Westbrook are both on the court together and Westbrook def looks like the better player, getting boards, steels and getting to the rim..... meanwhile, Curry is getting torched by Rubio.

Frankly, RW looks like the best player on the court, after Rubio

All I know is that if I was being chased by 350lb Sofo like Nenad was, I would high tail it out of there even quicker than he did.

at least he took up for his team mate that show heart and unselfishness. he wont leave he mates hanging i would rather have heart on my team than an coward. An there are no rules in fighting so what he threw a chair.
