Hello
Hello 5pts

I thought there were 4 matchups against each Western Conference Team? Why are the Lakers on here only 3 times?

f5alcon

houston i think will be slightly better then they ended last year so not all that impressive

f5alcon

@billyadams
good idea

I'm looking forward to the 6-game home stand March 18-29. The only game that might trip us up there is Utah on the 23rd. Could very well be a 6-0 stretch.

For anyone who wants it, here's a Google Calendar for the full Thunder schedule (I haven't added TV info yet)

@Steve H

Yeah, we did the concert two years ago when they did the extra long purple rain cover, it was pretty great. Unfortunately I live in Tulsa and split my season tickets so I didn't get that game last year.

f5alcon
f5alcon 5pts

@Clifton
they are not scared of anyone, that is for sure

Clifton
Clifton 5pts

Did my last comment make any sense? lol I don't think so... ummm...I meant to say, I think with their chemistry and KD's motivation, I think the early schedule is not impossible. They aren't scared of the Spurs, the Clips/Pistons/Bulls/Jazz are learning new pieces, and Indiana/Philly/Minnesota just aren't that good yet.

f5alcon
f5alcon 5pts

Most of the early tough games are at home, which should help somewhat if we play well at home, last year was odd in that we played basically just as well on the road, but if we can become one of those super home teams that would be good

Clifton
Clifton 5pts

@justin I agree that record would reflect that they've had a much easier start to the season than they actually will have...but I think momentum and chemistry might give them the first 3 games (against teams with new parts), and then 9-6 in the next 15 games is I would hope on the optimistic end of a reasonable estimate.

Jax Raging Bile Duct :I think we’d be lucky to finish November at .500

I'd say the goal should be over .500 or so through November then eat up that December schedule. That early schedule will likely define the season, especially with the division games.

@Clifton

12-6 through November seems optimistic to me. 57 wins would be an incredible achievement.

As it should be.

I don't think its too surprising. They are a small market team and their core players dont have the star power that they used to have.

Clifton
Clifton 5pts

RAN through the schedule, made some (conservative) estimates, what do you guys think:

My guesses:
Oct 3-0
Nov 9-6
Dec 13-3
Jan 8-5
Feb 7-4
Mar 12-4
Apr 5-3

The conservative total I came to was a 57-25 record, and that's assuming 0-3 against the Lakers, 1-3 against Miami/Boston, 1-2 vs Mavs, 2-2 vs Nuggets, 1-1 vs Orlando, 2-2 vs Portland, 2-1 vs San Antonio, 1-3 vs Phoenix, and 3-1 vs Houston.

So maybe 1-3 to Phoenix is ridiculous...but I'm pulling these numbers out of the sky anyway. This is just for kicks, I work in a cubicle

f5alcon

@Ozark
i kinda remember us asking the nba to do it because of the turnout from it.

@KingGondo
yeah i think he is young enough that he will be ok, the past 2 years he started slow in nov, thats why im hoping to avoid that

Sammy :Weird. San Antonio doesn’t have a single nationally televised game this year.

That's amazing.

@Ozark. Last year the wife and I did the new years game, followed by the Flaming Lips annual concert next door. Fantastic. Highly recommend the double header.

And yet again a home game on New Year's Eve!

I look at this schedule and see a pretty good year. December and March look pretty easy :)

KingGondo

f5alcon :@KingGondo

yeah, hopefully KD comes in hot off the worlds keeping him for starting slow

I'm worried the opposite will happen--you often see European soccer players have slow starts if they play all summer.

But Kevin's young, I'm sure he would be in the gym anyway.

In the first month of the season, we play Utah, Houston, Portland, and Boston twice. Yikes.

Should definitely set the tone for our season though. Get off to a good start, and 50+ wins will look really likely.

Jax Raging Bile Duct
Jax Raging Bile Duct 5pts

Still think Nov 4-20 is our toughest stretch. December looks good though.

f5alcon
f5alcon 5pts

december i could see us winning every game that month

f5alcon
f5alcon 5pts

nov could be really rough, or if we start hot we could make a huge lead over other teams, we finish off with boston early this year.

@Osano-Whoa
9 on ESPN, 4 on TNT, 2 on ABC for 15

Davy
Davy 5pts

I think 50 wins should be a very attainable goal, possibly upper 50's...

Looks like an easier schedule than last year, but maybe because the expectations are much higher already...

@The Doctor
I count 13 nationally televised games by that standard.

The Doctor

If they are blocked, you should still be able to get them through FSOK.

Rohit

NBA TV games are the worst because even if you get the NBA Broadband service (like myself), they're blocked.

It is 15 on ESPN, ABC & TNT. The rest are NBA TV televised games.

According to NBA.com we have 15 nationally televised games. A tremendous jump from the TWO we had the last couple years.

Looks like 15 back to backs, no road trips over 3 games long (!), another packed March/April (including our longest homestand of the season). Tough games:
on a back to back
a night after playing SA at home
the night after playing GS at home
1/13: vs. ORL on nat’l tv the night after flying home from HOU
, another offday, and vs LAL)

Only play three times vs. LAL, SA, DAL, GS. That’s a gift from the sched makers right there.

Tyler
Tyler 5pts

yes they is only 1 game against the Lakers at home this season so i think the tickets for that game will be sold out in a sec

Elegy444

December and March could be good months for us.
