TGR #27: Westbrook Birthday Bash with Sekou Smith

by Royce Young on November 13, 2010 at 5:01 pm 12 Comments

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUSTY!!! What a way to celebrate, dropping a career-high and getting the Thunder past the division rival Blazers for the second time in two weeks.

On this week’s episode, we give out the Thunder Wonder Awards for the past week and get ready for the game against the Spurs. Sekou Smith from the NBA Hangtime Podcast joins us to talk some Thunder and to play a little game we like to call “One of These Things Doesn’t Belong Here”. So get your party hat on and enjoy!

@Zackery
Plus a larger version of Nick Collison is a pretty solid pick up for this team.

Lack of height is worth discussing, but actual size... I don't know. He's easily 250lbs and has quite a wing span. He takes up as much room in the paint as any center in the league even without the missing 2 inches everyone worries about.

@Zackery

He's got a 9'3" reach, perfectly acceptable for an NBA center.

Is anyone else here concerned about Cole Aldrich's lack of size. I mean he is only 6'10". I see his potential as just a taller version of Nick Collison without the outside J. Or a defensive-only Kevin Love. Both comparisons are actually pretty good.

Tru dat! As my avatar suggests, I will continue to trust in Presti and rout our Thunder no matter what. Good stuff here, Brad. Props and Kudos!

It's hard to clasify anyone taken outside of the lottery as a bust isn't it? The majority of players taken after 20 don't ever make a rotation.

@Osano-Whoa
Thanks, appreciate the support!

@RW04MVP
I think Mullens is in WAY more danger of being a bust than Cole. I'm still not over passing on Blair for him. I want my pregame primer! GO THUNDER!!

Totally agree with you guys. I'm getting tired of all the Cole hate on some forums and radio stations, too early to be throwing words like "bust" around.

Great show as always. The quality of these podcasts seems to be steadily increasing, and it was pretty good to start with, so color me impressed.
