After winning a huge game on TNT against one of the best in the East, leading the Northwest Division and on pace to beat last year’s record, are we fans giving the Thunder enough credit? Maybe all the talk about the Jeff Green issues, our lack of defense, and the big gaping whole in the middle is taking away from enjoying a great season as a Thunder fan.
On this week’s episode we talk to Audley and Dave from The Breakdown who attempt to set us straight. Our first foursome on the podcast should get some laughs.
We also get some insight from Darnell Mayberry regarding Jeff Green and his possible future with the team, among many other Thunder related topics.
Finally, be sure to catch the last interview of the episode. Its only 3 minutes long but includes the world’s most knowledgeable 2 1/2 year old NBA fan.

Mark! :
Todd :Green isn’t a bad fit on the Thunder. He’s out of position at the 4. If/when someone else assumes the starting role there (say “Ibaka” with me) and he can come off the bench backing up KD, he’s an excellent fit. Assuming he’s willing to do that. As a wise man once said, we’ll find out soon enough. Or maybe it was a wise guy.
Durant is averaging 39 MPG this year. Even if Green comes off the bench, there are only 9 MPG available for backing up KD. Even if Durant rested a few extra minutes, that still leaves a majority of Green’s minutes coming from playing at the 4.
Am I the only one who would actually like to see how Green does coming off the bench before signing him to a contract that assumes he’ll do well coming off the bench? Some players just can’t make the adjustment.
Uh...I second what he says! : ) Good call Marky Mark
@Zed
It's the German version of a douche.

Perhaps Odom was just upset that Blake is making the Clips somewhat respectable. That is something that Lamar was never able to accomplish.

What's a deuche?
@Todd
That's kind of the point. He's playing out of position - a bad fit for our team. The whole super sixth man idea is cute, I've been a proponent of it myself in the past, but let's be realistic. Green plays 40 minutes a night, there's no way Brooks just suddenly decides to start someone else. Green is widely considered a hot talent around the league, why would he accept a lesser role with lesser money when some other team is ready to dump their entire future on him?
@f5alcon
I'm almost more worried with them coming off a loss, Phil Jackson teams don't like to lose consecutive games.
Watched the Denver San Antonio game this evening and ESPN touted the 5 best records so far in the league, San Antonio, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, and ..... ready for this ..... Dallas!!!! Skipped right over Chicago, Oklahoma City and Utah. Amazing Happens Here
so clips and lakers got in a fight, maybe we get lucky and odom gets suspended for tomorrow
I'm not gonna take the time to listen to the podcast because I'm not interested in anyone's fantasy team. But, does everyone realize that with a win tomorrow night we would be within a game of the #2 seed at the exact halfway point of the season? I understand this team has their deficiencies on the court and on the bench, but we as fans really do need to enjoy this performance by such a young team for what it really is.
Wish I could have the time I spent listening to the first half of this episode back. No one cares about your fantasy league team other than you.
off topic, but we should draft brittney griner when she gos pro
Guys, did anyone see Russell on SNL last night? During the ESPN Deportes sketch? I mean, it was him getting blocked by Jared Jeffries, but it was still pretty cool... to me, anyway.
...anyone?
I'm really impressed by that 2.5 year old kid. He pronounced Kristic's name better than half of broadcasters out there.
@DizzDai
haha, i just watched that too. One of the better 30 for 30's i've watched thus far.
After watching ESPN's 30 for 30 "Once Brothers" I feel oddly sympathetic for Nenad Krstic. Not he wasn't in the documentary, but it was about Yugoslavia's national team while the country was splitting up. Vlade Divac and Drazen Petrovic relationship was the focus of the story.
Even a two year old can pronounce Nenad Krstic's name properly. Come on Brian Davis!

I LOVE that Jeff Green is considered so underrated by outsiders. Even fans here know he is a good player, just a bad fit on this team. If he’s really that highly regarded by other GMs, I have high hopes for the trade deadline/offseason.

Boston really only has 3 guys who shoot the 3 pointer beyond a small amount, while Miami has 6 and Orlando has 7. Boston can not afford any of their guys being off or injured. I'd probably look to make a trade or other move for at least one more.
It sounds strange, but one reason Boston may not win the title is they aren't making a lot of 3s as a team. 21st in the league.
Both Judah and Dad did good work and looks like they have something to share and have fun with. Some folks try to make their kid the next Jordan. Could Judah be the next Kevin Calabro? Doesn't have to be. Being a sharp kid gives many options.
Actually, I've been here for a while.

@dream catcher
But only 5 rebounds. He had 7 blocks a few days ago, but still only 5 boards. Perhaps he'll specialize in getting his double doubles with blocks and points.

I’m not sure if anyone has read draftexpress’s D-League Showcase review.

“Aldrich isn’t being spoon-fed minutes or touches the way you normally see allocated NBA players in the D-League, as he’s averaging less field goal attempts per minute than he did in college and is playing just 27 minutes (of 48) per game. It appears that Tulsa is trying to more closely replicate the role he’ll be expected to grow into on Oklahoma City eventually, which is that of a gritty role-player rather than a go-to guy.”
Makes sense to me.
They also mention Latavious Williams. I’m starting to wonder how Williams’s game will translate into the NBA.
Aldrich had 8 blocks last night.
I'm sure Ibaka will get a lot of buzz. Especially if he pulls off the free throw dunk.
I was kinda bummed that they thought Green had a good perimeter game. He should know better. Especially if Green is on their fantasy team.
