This week we got Chris Vernon from 730 Fox Sports in Memphis. This is the guy that interviewed Micheal Heisley when he went on his yelling rant.
We talked about the series with the Grizzlies, the history of the team in Memphis and some of the best moves coming out that all the nerds should get up for.

@Daniel Plainview
Its highly improbable at the moment because the Lakers don't have cap space or a way to clear enough cap space and I don't see the Thunder trading WB for Bynum (or Gasol).
Also, the pain of Green being traded has to be fresh on their minds; KD and WB have been brothers on the court all this time from 23 wins to 55 wins and a chance to get to the WCF in only their second playoff season.
While my heart tells me Russ will resign here, Im having some bad premonitions. If he continues to "struggle" in these playoffs, and Maynor's minutes increase, in conjunction with L.A.'s now conspicuous inability to win with their roster and rapidly aging star, Jerry Buss will call with promises that RW will be their No. 1, endorsements deals will be immensely larger and the the largest stage in basketball will be his and the opportunity to outshine D Rose will be his first order of business.
I would not judge Russ if he went this route. I understand Russ's tendency to go into hero mode. Ive defended him before, mentioning how he was barely recruited, not ranked at all by Rivals.com whle Daquean Cook was ranked in the top 20. How Russ couldnt dunk until his senior year. If you were he and you know knew that your athleticism is asbsolutely on par with the youngest MVP in the history of teh league, youd be hell bent on proving it too every second you had the ball..
However, maybe I underestimate his friendship with KD and his loyalty to the Thunder. I hope so, and hope he becomes a passer first and does his maturation with the Thunder
You cannot defend Dirk right now. Dude is on another planet, or in another solar system. The lefty hook he hit over Pau/Bynum was ridiculous.
@Daniel
True True, but i think an L.A. fan of all fans should be the one least complaining.
@DJ 7
Side point, but I don't think I've ever seen or heard a losing team compliment the officiating, even in a blowout!
Laker Homer "I wish L.A. got these calls that the Mavs are."
Celtic fan "HAHA were you complaining when they shot 21 free throws in the 4th quarter of game 7 last year?"
Another Laker Homer "Dallas is a jumpshooting team.
The Lakers aren't."
Me: Dallas used PnR against a Poor PnR Defense the Lakers have. They penetrated and penetrated and got open looks from 3 out of an obvious weakness. The Lakers had 2 seasons now to fix that problem and they didn't. The playoff's are all about match-ups, and exposing weaknesses. Gasol is soft, and Odom does a bad job on Dirk. You either let Dirk kill you, or let them shoot for 3. I much rather Dirk go off, then let 3 of the best 20, 3 pt shooters of all time go off on you.
A 3rd Laker Homer: "Your a Thunder fan, you guys are going to lose to Memphis. HAHAHAHA L.A. has won the title and dominated the 2000's."
Me: "Thats cool man, you hang on to that. My Thunder are going to run this b'tch for the next 10 years now. Have fun watching at home!!"
LA Lakers, "We'll turn it on in the playoffs."
Wonder if the lakers are in panic mode yet:)
@Joel the guy
I'm sorry myself...I shouldn't have said I lost respect. I just hate the Heat that much. I just like to stand up to Miami whenever possible.
@justin
Lol Thats exactly what i was thinking when i saw that ball go out of bonds.
Over, Dallas going to be in the WFC's. Please boys find a way to win in Memphis.
LOL that looked like one of our inbound plays.
shiki :
We can find way to guard Kobe,but cannot guard Dirk.
Let Dirk go to work, and stop everyone else seems to be the best way. Westbrook isn't as slow as Fisher/Blake.
A wide open 3pt'er shot by good shooters is one of the most efficient shots in the game, especially when LAL has those bigs in the paint. Can't believe how wide open some of these looks have been for Dallas.
@justin
Yeah, i just learned a serious lesson.
I'm eating crow now because Dallas just proved me wrong about staying hot on the 3.
DJ 7 :@justin
Yeah Justin but everyone goes cold eventually.
When you're as wide open as they have been you keep shooting them.

@DJ 7
I can definitely see us trading Nate next season. Some teams might have a use for him, and he's a 4.5m expiring contract.
Bynums 5th Foul, they need to drive, they're in the penalty and Bynum won't look to contest the shot. If Phil plays Odom/Gasol, then give the ball to Dirk and let him go to work on Odom. If they double team him, he has Kidd/Terry/Peja to pass it to. I don't see how that is a bad idea.
DJ 7 :
Dallas will not win if they are counting on the 3 ball to get them the lead. 4/5 last possessions for Dallas have been beyond the arc. What are they going to do when they go cold.
You can shoot threes when you have four good 3pt shooters on the court.
Mavs in the penalty now.

@Daniel
Do you think we'll have 2 PG's next season or just Maynor. I would say get both if possible and let either Mohammed or Thabo go. I know we're going to trade Nate, we just don't need him.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Dallas drive to the rim. Maybe Bynum or Gasol foul you. One more foul on any one of them and they will hesitate to contest the shot for the rest of the game. Bynum has 4, one more foul and Phil will be force to play an Odom/Gasol which will get worked inside. If not Mavs better get Bynum to foul out because he's killing them.
@DJ 7
If we can't bring back Cook, I'd be a huge advocate for Peja. Our bench rotation would be pretty solid.
Maynor
Thabo
Peja
Collison
Aldrich/Mohammed
@shiki
I hope you can man, Bricktown (OKC's downtown area) is amazing during the season especially on game nights. Maybe you should try and wait till the PO's and try to get tickets to one of those games. I promise you, you will be shocked with how fun it is.
@Daniel
Maybe for cheap next season. Thats a big maybe though. I agree he would fit right in place.
I wish we could have signed Peja. He looks like he would be a great fit as a backup 3 here.
@DJ 7
I will visit my brother who lives in Dallas next year if I save enough money.He will take me to OKC because he is KD fan,too
@Thomas
L.A. is in my eyes in a bad spot. Pau & Kobe really haven't gotten completely along. They're just teammates and respect each other but don't personally have a bond. Paul Pierce, Garnette, and Ray pretty much love each other like brothers. Our boys are like that, but these guys in L.A. kinda have an ego.
If L.A. has to give up one of their bigs for future matter most would say trade Bynum, but to me a healthy Bynum > Gasol. Gasol though does a good job of staying healthy, and usually is consistent, Bynum sometimes plays horrible even if healthy. I don't know what they are going to do.
Mavs settled for way to many long shots instead of driving to the rim, and trying to get Bynum his 4th, or Odom his 4th while they were still in.
I have a theory that Pau has grown tired of dragging Kobe across the finish line. He just doesn't look all that motivated or interested at this point.
@DJ 7
+1

Thats freaking awesome!!! Have you ever thought of traveling to Oklahoma for a game?
I bet Dallas fans are hating the announcers. Lol.
"it's amazing how fans know so little about the rules"
"Chandler should be fined for flopping"
Lol!
What a homer!!!
Marion and Peja are 1-10.why not play Brewer?
@DJ 7

@JJJ
Howard for Bynum? Now that i think about it, seems possible. Dang man thats horrible. You know what i hope there is a team tag in the NBA. No way Kobe/Gasol/Howard. Man thats to OP.
With how Bynum has been playing, I'm becoming more and more convinced that Otis Smith will send Howard to LA by next trade deadline
Stupid Mavs, not playing smart.
@shiki
Terry he actually plays Defense at times.
Shiki i've been wondering, where are you from?
@shiki
I want to take Terry but he is slightly older than Crawford. It's a toss-up I guess.
Terry or Jamal Crawford ,Who is better sixth man?
The Mavs better go at Bynum, i mean this is an opportunity to dismantle the Lakers piece by piece.
Gasol with 2 fouls, and Bynum with 2. If the Mavs really want to, they should do a PnR with Bynum and get him his 3rd, then force Phil to either play Gasol, Keep Bynum in with the possibility of getting a 4th, or play in Smith/whoever else they have at the 5, with Odom and get killed in the front-line.
Yikes Peja
Gasol rarely disappears. Im immensely suprised by his phantom presence
It feels like if Dalls could go one 10-0 run the series would be over. Like over as in the Lakers might start throwing punches at one another during the timeouts.
