Talk about the draft, the Thunder, mock the draft, actually make a mock draft, how bad Green Lantern was or whatever you want.
The Thunder will be doing something tonight whether it’s trading up, trading down or staying put. By all appearances, it should be a pretty inconsequential night for the Thunder. But it could turn very interesting in a hurry.

My strategy would probably be to offer Westbrook an extension at $10-11 million per year tops, possibly with incentives involved and if he says no (and wants to take some risk of injury or another option emerging) then can either up it or you can look at Jackson next season and decided what to offer Westbrook next summer based on what all the PGs do next season. He'd still be a restricted free agent then. If he gets in a huff and wants to play cheap for a 5th year to become a UFA, you still can bid for him then.
Probably not an active factor in the pick but Presti gets to pay back Riley for taking Latavious last season and taking that second round pick from the team this season.
Wiz get Shelvin Mack as backup, I guess
New thread fellas.
File this under things you will never see Maynor or Thabo do (I know he picks up the foul here but jeez!).

Crow :The odds are strong that Westbrook will get extended at a high number but I guess I don’t see it as simple or slamdunk at the max.
Assuming Westbrook can get the max or close to it elsewhere, what's your strategy then? Small market team like OKC can't afford to take star players for granted.

Yes!
Thank God Singler is gone.
Yea Singler is gone
The Honey Badger :Guys, Jackson isn’t going to play. We have a full 10 man rotation already…
Mohammed and Cook are not on the roster, who is in this 10 man rotation of yours?
ESPN Draft Tracker's analysis of OKC pick:
"Reggie Jackson hasn't worked out for one team. Didn't do physicals. No interviews or psych tests. And he still goes No. 24. The Heat are bummed. They shut him down to keep him out of the first round, but it didn't work. It's a great pick for the Thunder. He's long and athletic and he can shoot the basketball. A very underrated player. Does this mean Eric Maynor is on his way out?"
Darn Cleveland got Harper
Wow, Cleveland doing an outstanding job in this draft.
Guys, Jackson isn't going to play. We have a full 10 man rotation already...
Cleveland gets Justin Harper. I'm heartbroken, but happy he didn't go to a team in the West.
Time will tell on Westbrook's pricetag / future outcome.
"Thank you for still being here."
Buying a 2nd round became far more expensive in the last year or two than it used to cost, especially for the first few picks.
I'd like to see them do it. There are some decent names left.
Miami getting booed! haha
Daniel Plainview :Also, I wonder if this pg pick isnt some how a blow to Westbrooks ego. It could absolutely be percievd by him as a loss of faith in him. Im not trying to start any rumors, but how could he NOT ponder this decision in a potentially negative way?
Are you trying to keep the national media's narrative going during the summer? This is just an absurd suggestion.
Westbrook for Dwight Howard
I look for Thunder to get a pick in the second round.
Look at it this way, if you had a guard you liked in this draft, you had to get him in the first round. If you wait til the second, he'd be gone with nothing comparable.
If you're still interested in a SF, Harper, Singler, and Parsons will all still be there in round 2.
Yeah the thought that drafting Reggie Jackson #24 has any bearing on the Russell Westbrook negotiations seems unlikely. "Russell we know you made 2nd team all nba and the all star team this year but we're prepared to let you go..."
I don't see it.
I want to see a trade nowwwwwwwwwww.
Crow :If they keep Jackson, I’d think there is now more basis to support thinking that the Thunder won’t offer Westbrook the full & simple max right away.
I think this move was exclusively about Maynor, personally.
Chicago got a good pick
OKC jersey sighting!
Hahaha, David Stern goating the crowd. Love it!
"Your welcome"

@ DJ 7
I sure hope they can. I doubt it will happen though. I don't think any games will be missed though.
It's not like he's strictly a point guard. He's still a combo guard meaning he doesnt HAVE to replace anybody
It doesn't mean anything for Westbrook.
justin :@ Daniel Plainview SF lite? Durant plays ~38 minutes there and Thabo can play SF just fine for the other 10. Harden can slide over there at times in a three guard set.
I can not believe you just gave Thabo, what I would discern as, praise. What is happening?
@ Daniel Plainview
Maybe we're planning to move Westbrook to the 2 and seriously start Maynor...you cant help but wonder.
Corey Joseph? What the...
Has anyone seen Ron Artests proposition to change his name....?
Also, I wonder if this pg pick isnt some how a blow to Westbrooks ego. It could absolutely be percievd by him as a loss of faith in him. Im not trying to start any rumors, but how could he NOT ponder this decision in a potentially negative way?
@ JelloPuddinPup
I'm hopping that somehow the rich suites, and ballers can come to an agreement soon. For the sake of the league.
When did we promise Jackson
@ DJ 7
You mean upcoming "week-ish". Can't do trades during a lockout.
@ Daniel Plainview
SF lite? Durant plays ~38 minutes there and Thabo can play SF just fine for the other 10. Harden can slide over there at times in a three guard set.
I recall Miami wanting Reggie Jackson, maybe him and Byron for Haslem.
Not everybody can handle being a 12-15 minute backup PG like Maynor. Hope they understand who Jackson is or can be for the team if he replaces Maynor.
Not sure is they could play both. Maybe next year if Harden or Thabo take all the backup SF minutes and Cook doesn't come back. Probably not long-term.
justin :@ Daniel Plainview He doesn’t have to be traded now. But if an opportunity arises and you have someone that you think can step in and be a good fit, why not do it? You’re adding better overall talent to the team.
Were way guard heavy and way sf lite. Im absolutely certain a combo guard will be availabel to us next year. Unless we trade Maynor for a Lotto pick next year, which is what i wanted before this draft began, then, Ill be happy. But if Hardne isnt starting and Jackson only gets 5-8 minutes a game, I think its a total sham. I usually defer to your analytical acumen, but here I just do not get it at all. Jackson wasnt projected to go any higher than us at 24 and Hamilton was a consensus 16 overall. Travesty, friend, travesty
Bryson :Another PG for Minny. No surprise there.
Cole will be traded to Miami.
they still have pick 30 and jenkins is still on the board, who i think is a reasonable fit for them
Minny is just in another world
Another PG for Minny. No surprise there.
