The Thunder’s newest addition Reggie Jackson, who Oklahoma added with the 24th pick in the draft, will wear No. 15.
Why 15?
“Fifteen fit me, I believe,” Jackson said at an introductory news conference yesterday. “I like the 5, for the five guys on the court at one time; (the number) 1, one team, one beating heart, everybody has one goal and basically that’s the championship, so I like the number.”
Geez, somebody’s trying to make Sam Presti like him.
But that’s a pretty good answer and a pretty good view into Presti’s mindset of taking Jackson. There’s a certain type of mentality a player needs to possess if he’s going to really fit the Thunder structure and it appears Jackson has it.
Jackson wore No. 0 in college at Boston College, but of course, that’s sort of taken.
Also, he knows the value of a bowtie, which is never a bad thing. And he even one-upped James Harden by adding suspenders. Not too bad. The cellphone belt clip though? I don’t know about that.

David West to exercise his ETO.
@ The Beard Knows
Especially because he's just speculating. When a player thinks his coach thinks he's uncoachable, he's either uncoachable or a bit off his rocker, neither of which is a great thing from only a moderately talented player.
Player's that take personal responsibility (even more than they really should) are the ones that improve the most.

@ Daniel
I feel like even if it is true, Hamilton outing his coach is a red flag in and of itself.
@Daniel
Yes, I found it very suspicious that so many teams passed on Hamilton. There must've been a major red flag with him, and as of this moment, I'm glad we took Jackson instead. Of course my opinion could change if Hamilton sets the league on fire in the next 5 years and Jackson is a complete bust, but I really don't see that happening.
@Daniel Plainview
I love fantasy basketball and find it crazy that we have the projected #1 and #6 fantasy players in the entire NBA! As we know, fantasy basketball is all about numbers and having as few weaknesses as possible.
This just shows how productive KD and Russ are, when fantasy owners are willing to draft them as the centerpiece of their respective teams.
I think if Scotty Brooks announces James as the starter at SG, his fantasy value skyrockets as well. He provides everything you could want in a fantasy shooting guard: points, assists, steals, 3's and high percentages.
And Serge obviously contributes hugely in one very important and often overlooked category: blocks. In a head-to-head league, Serge can probably win you the blocks category every week by himself!
Anyone see these fantasy speculations? Look at two of the top 3 moving up, also no 1 and 6 overall

Dude hasnt even stepped on the court yet. And hes already the next Wade. haha Can we see him at least beat Maynor or Harden out their spots? Doubt it
@ Daniel
I think this answers the question about why we passed on Hamilton
Anyone else see this?
"Jordan Hamilton was chosen by the Dallas Maverickswith the 26th pick in the first round, and eventually ended up with the Denver Nuggets as part of a three-team deal.
Some were projecting Hamilton higher. When NBA writer Chris Tomasson asked Hamilton about it, the Longhorns standout said he felt Barnes had some influence. Tomasson tweeted Hamilton's response to him.
"(Barnes) called some teams and said that I probably wasn't coachable and things like that. But I feel I can be coachable""

Nba owners played themselves... Case in point . Greg oden has played all but 82 games yet he WIll get offered a multi year 8+ mil a year
Traber just made a somewhat interesting point, 6 of the NBA owners are also NHL owners (his stat I haven't verified that) and the NHL owners basically "won" their lockout. Might have gotten an unfortunate message they'll be passing along to other owners.
Haha love child comparison.
@ Daniel Plainview
I don't think you understand how much I love the "James Harden = Child of Russ and KD"
So, absolutely not.. The only playerbid really want at our two is igoudlala
Thomas :@ DJ 7 Could you get Lamar Odom for Harden at this point? I know he’s older but he should have a few good years left.
Odom has been huge and is a smart player, but ia old. However Jimmy H is.gonna be huge for many yeats, and given our two biggest stars, he is the perfect 3rd option, hes like if rw and kd.had a baby
See, I would have to say Rose. We would have to take him and move Russ to the 2. I don't think there is any other viable option.
@ Thomas
Oh yes and same disclaimer as Bryson stated above. This is just for fun. I don't honestly want to trade James.
@ DJ 7
Could you get Lamar Odom for Harden at this point? I know he's older but he should have a few good years left.
@ Bryson
Howard and thats about it. I can't imagine having anyone else lead our team to a championship.
A more intresting one, would be James Harden.
@ Mark!
This picture made me laugh. Those two are so awesome.
@ Bryson
I think we should say Lebron, but I just can't bring myself to root for him. If Lebron's out the question it's really tough. We don't want Rose since we have Russ. Kobe's too old. Dwight Howard I guess would be the only half way acceptable answer (assuming he would sign an extension). He and Russ could be pretty good.
@ Daniel Plainview
I firmly second this notion. I cannot wait to see experiments such as Westbrook, Jackson, Harden, Durant and Ibaka on the floor. Good god, man!
Please note that above post is for the sake of conversation & argument. I do not want to trade KD.
Ok, the DT traffic has slowed soo much since the draft, and it's making me sad. SO. For the sake of argument, if KD demanded a trade, who would you trade him for?
@ Mark!
Touche. lol. Steve Urkel had some serious game...
I am not so sure that RJ has a Wade-like career ahead of him, but there are more similarities than I thought initially. They both had good college careers at mid-tier schools and then blew up their junior year. They're both true tweeners that dominated the ball in college and remained efficient despite it. They both employ a fearless attacking style at times but get the lionshare of their buckets off PnR. They are both crafty defenders that use their unusually long arms to their advantage. I would have liked some combine measurements. I didn't watch much BC basketball but the one thing that I haven't seen from RJ that can't be emphasized enough is the body control that Wade possesses. I don't think that's the sort of thing one can develop either.
Grolgar :The only exception to the rule is Russ. Not sure what happened with that one. All the rest of his draft picks are nerds.
http://yfrog.com/h86kmhoj
His listed weight is 208 pounds. Dwyane Wade was 212 when he entered the league.
@ DSYIII
Hey does appear pretty broad through the shoulders and chest. If he can fill out he could be pretty dangerous in the post against smaller guards with those long arms.
I think we're all giving Presti too much credit for his basketball knowledge. I just think he's a nerd and he wants friends. So when we have a draft pick Presti just uses it on a nerd he can be friends with. The only exception to the rule is Russ. Not sure what happened with that one. All the rest of his draft picks are nerds.
I want to watch the Thunder play basketball.
for a guard reggie has a very large frame. if he hits the weights hard he could end up with a wade-like physique to go along with his somewhat wade-like game. If his ceiling is a poor-man's wade with a consistent 3-point shot, that's pretty darn exciting.
It's almost weird to see anything team related with the dark cloud of this pending lockout hanging over us. I've just prepared myself to expect the team to go away for an indeterminate period. There's a part of me that sees this photo op as an unexpected surprise. Like you've just heard a long lost track from your favorite band that broke up years ago or the restored footage left over from the cutting room floor of a classic movie.
