Details on the Oklahoma City charity game

by Royce Young on October 12, 2011 at 4:43 pm 9 Comments

A press conference was held today in Oklahoma City to give a few details on the Kevin Durant charity game. It’s going to be billed as “Blake Griffin vs. Kevin Durant.”

Previously it was reported the game was Oct. 27 but the actual date is Oct. 23. Tickets will start at $29 and go up to as much as $199 for floor seats. Bowl seating with be for $89.  Tickets go on sale Monday at noon at www.coxconventioncenter.com, at Homeland stores and the Cox Center Box Office (800) 745-3000.

Right now, Durant, Griffin and LeBron James are confirmed for the game but Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul also are expected to play. And I’m sure a number of Thunder players will join the action as well.

Supposedly Perk is supposed to come up for the game. Not sure if he'll play due to the game structure, but it'll be interesting to see just on first glimpse how much he's slimmed down.

@Thomas, yeah.

Mediation might not help get to the goal soon but it probably won't hurt and it might help them from digging into their current positions deeper and firmer.

I've been thinking that for a while. The sides are just too far apart and can't see the forest for the trees at this point. Its all about the "win" and it should be about the goal.

I completely love that idea. The OKC and formerly of OKC all-stars v. the world. Sort of like the NHL used to do North America v. the World in its all-star game.

I mentioned mediation late last night in the Thunder react thread.

Now today, they've acted on that.

At $29 to $89 for the majority of the prices, this event should sell out pretty easily. Better be online at noon.

Also hearing that Uncle Jeff is gonna play. And that Desmond Mason is helping to put it together.

I'm pumped for this. Kinda wish Blake was gonna be on KD's team though. It'd be cool to have an all-OKC-ish team: Chris Paul, Russ, KD, Jeff, Blake... versus LeBron, Carmelo, Wade, etc...
