ORLANDO — There was a little press availability for KD’s movie Friday morning with his two co-stars Tristan May and Taylor Gray. I went, and was one of maybe 10 people that were there. It definitely wasn’t a prime All-Star Weekend event. It was a little awkward, quite honestly.
Why did KD do this movie? He said he did it because he wanted people to see the other side of him. Originally he said he told them no, but changed his mind.
“I’m glad I did. I had a lot of fun and stepped out of my comfort zone.”
The movie certainly isn’t going to win any Oscars and it’s not going to be scoring in the 80s on Rotten Tomatoes. But I won’t lie — it was kind of cool seeing Oklahoma City represented like that in a movie. And that’s part of the reason KD wanted to do it too.
“That was one of my main goals when I first got to Oklahoma City,” Durant said. “Whatever I do just try and represent it as much as I can. Because we are always underrated as a city and people always look down on us. So like I said, I just try and represent as much as a I can. With the film, seeing Thunder everywhere makes me feel good.”
But KD talked about the movie some, they showed a clip and they gave me a free mini basketball. So overall, score.
