Saturday Morning Cartoons: Coach Russell

by Royce Young on February 4, 2012 at 11:45 am 7 Comments

Happy Saturday. Thank you for your support of DT. Shine on you crazy diamonds.

Russell Westbrook filmed a new BancFirst commercial a couple of weeks ago at Edmond North High School and here’s the results. It’s an ad that’s supposed to show teamwork for BancFirst, but when you hear “We’re proving that teamwork, commitment and loyalty can go a long way,” it makes you wonder if the Thunder actually wrote that copy. And I know what you’re thinking. When the kid (who is Jordan McCabe, from YouTube fame), says he learned to play from Westbrook, it’s no coincidence he appeared to be a shoot first kind of guy.

They should trade that kid for Rondo

This commercial wasn't very realistic if it was supposed to represent the Thunder. They got the part right about crawling back from a big deficit, but they left out the turnovers, lost rebound opportunities, and an altercation between the Westbrookish and a KD-type player. :)

I think that kid's from Seattle...there was a story about him here last year.

LOL at Westbrook jumping to do the chest bump with that kid on the sideline at the end and hitting him in the shoulders because of the height difference.
