Happy Saturday. Thank you for your support of Daily Thunder. Walk on.
Nick Collison in his recent GQ blog: “The hard part is being able to have the focus to do it over and over again, knowing you aren’t going to get a lot of credit. Doing a great job of talking on defense won’t get you any high-paying endorsement deals. Nobody is making a YouTube mix of all your badass screens with a Rick Ross track playing over it. (I’m not saying I would complain if someone did this for me.)”
Thank me later, Nick.

We are now 4th in rebounding?
I thought we were bad rebounding team
@ThunderWins We're not fourth in rebounding. We're in the 20's. 25th in defensive rebounding.
http://www.nba.com/statistics/sortable_team_statistics/sortable2.html?cnf=1&prd=1
Shows 43.47 RPG per game which is 4th in the league.
@cdub00@ThunderWins I don't much care for 1st in the West unless there's a Finals appearance to go with it.
@[censored] @ThunderWins Interesting that Westbrook has almost twice as good TPR as Parker. Wonder if crow knows this. http://blitzsportsnetwork.com/feat/advanced-nba-metrics-and-statistics-separating-the-men-from-the-boys/#comments
@[censored] @ThunderWins And we r still 1st in the west.
@[censored] If Perkin contributed 10rpg per game we wouldn't be as bad.
@ThunderWins Not much on the defensive boards but I think we've been better on the offensive boards and that's reflected in the near league-average ranking now after being worse most of the season so far.
@[censored] So you have seen no improvement the last few games? cause it seems they have been better.
@ThunderWins Again the positive rebounding differential (in our case) is a function of the team generally shooting much better than the opponent (defensive rebounds are easier to secure than offensive rebounds). Not a reflection of the team's ability to rebound the ball.
@ThunderWins You don't measure it that way. We have a high overall rebounding average because teams don't shoot well against us. The better way to measure rebounding is rebounding % - the percentage of available rebounds you secure. This takes into account differences in pace, shot attempts, etc. We're 25th in defensive rebounding percentage and 16th in offensive rebounding percentage. Well below average, and just plain bad on the defensive boards.
RB DIF +2.37 which is still 6th not bad.
@ThunderWins We allow our opponents 85 shots every game which is the worst in NBA and their FG% was only 42.2% which is the 5th best,so maybe our opponents miss the most shots which become rebounds.
@ThunderWins we could be better. And giving offensive boards is our weakness.
@cdub00 At least we improved greatly on the boards, if we could improve the TO issue and Defense we would be there in the end.
@ThunderWins Agree. Having losha out for an extended period has def caused our team defense to take a hit. U think Ellis goes for half a century and parker almost 40 with losha on 'em? Prob not. Excited about playoffs this year. Only like 7 weeks til playoffs!
Just wanna throw out there that Russ is a top 3 PG. Some folks have been bashing and I'm here to set it straight. No Russ and we would be in deep doo doo.
NC is a G.
@cdub00
No, he's a PF/C actually.
(joking)
Man, i want someone to beat the Spurs so badly now. Even if it means that the Clippers, Mavs, Miami or Lakers have to beat them.
Enough talk of Seattle. For not liking them so much, yall sure spend an awful large amount of time talking about em. Nothing of any value is being added at this point
http://www.warriorsworld.net/2012/02/17/thunder-clutch/
interesting article on our late game plays..
Seattle fans has told me that KD hates OKC and Loves Seattle and once his contract is up he will come to seattle and will leave lazy A^^ city
Yes cause im sure KD just talks to those seattle folks like..EVERY DAY and proclaims his hatred for us hicks :P . shesh. its a stupid pipe dream of theirs and its unhealthy. Once they acquire a team maybe they will shut up, but i doubt it.
@T-Fred they said that about his rookie deal and he signed a 5 year extension with no opt out. It is funny how they think he cares about going back, he spent more of his career here, maybe collison will go back, but considering those two are the only ones to ever play there on the current roster, there is no reason to think that will happen, or that the potential seattle team would have the cap room to take KD in 4 years.
@f5alcon yep KD loves the city and his family likes it here and he has a big house here.
@T-Fred @f5alcon big house(s)*
Man, I would just like to see Scotty ride the hot hand. Start Ivey, since Cook has been cold. Let Cook come off the bench, maybe he will regain his stroke and make our bench more effective.
I like Ivey since he is shown that he is a really good defender, not to mention he knocked down 3 threes not in garbage time.
@Remify idk about starting ivey but i would like to see him ride the hot hand more often and bench players if they arent playing right instead of going with set rotations.
@Lost Ones@Remify I think the Thunder philosophy a lot of times is stick with your guys and show that you believe in them even when they are struggling. There seems to be an intentional decision to help guys develop mentally by sticking with them.
@Lost Ones@Remify id like to see him bench KD every now and then... but i figure if it didnt happen by now then it wont happen at all
@Lost@RRRWHOAAAA Ones @Remify Haha bench KD. There's a point where players are so good that there isn't really any point in benching them. The problem with KD is that he could be 0-14 from the floor and then score 25 points in the fourth quarter
@Lost Ones True, I mean Cook spreads the floor no matter how cold he's been. But Ivey has earned some extra minutes for his play lately. We usually rotate Cook and Thabo with decent minutes for both of them, I would like to see same rotation with Cook and Ivey. Ivey can really defend, isn't that what we are missing with Thabo out? I'm not saying Royal is as good of a defender as Thabo, but he is better than Cook.
is perk playing tomorrow?
@RRRWHOAAAA Hope he does but we won't need him as much. Nene's out
@RRRWHOAAAA Scotty said he will see how Perk feels tomorrow. I'm pretty sure it is a game time decision.
@RRRWHOAAAA hopefully not, i dont need to drink anymore.
russ says hes good to go for tomorrow
Cool , where did that come from?
@GeoLogger espn....via Darnell Mayberry

@RRRWHOAAAA @GeoLogger I'm personally just really excited for the next time we empty the bench with both Lazar and Ryan Reid wearing Hannibal Lecter masks.
@RRRWHOAAAA@GeoLogger I hope it is the ending of our injury problem
@GeoLogger the article also says lazar has an orbital fracture and will be out at least a week...
@RRRWHOAAAA cool
If anybody is watching this Clippers vs Spurs it is hilarious. So much flopping you can't tell which contact is real between CP3, Tony Parker and Blake Griffin.
@mjokc88 Looks like the Spurs could be without Manu (again) and Splitter for awhile. Both were injured in today's game.
@mjokc88 Just got back from that game. Probably one of the best games I'll ever see live.
@SammyThunderer@mjokc88 you were at the spurs clippers game? me too
@mjokc88 SA is only 1.5 games back now. They have won 10 straight and the last six have all been away. They're officially the team I would most like to avoid in the WC playoffs.
@The_Beard_Knows@mjokc88 well we shouldnt see them until the WC finals.
@The_Beard_Knows@mjokc88 Spurs is a regular season team.
You are correct.
@The_Beard_Knows Strangely, I'm not worried about the Spurs. They live and die by 3s. The Clippers threw the game away literally with 7 seconds left.
