Win NBA Finals tickets, help a great cause

by Royce Young on June 8, 2012 at 4:33 pm 25 Comments

Want Finals tickets? Dumb question.

Want Finals tickets at potentially a cheap than standard price while knowing your money is going towards a great cause? Yeah, that’s more like it.

Game 1: Auction for charity

Totally Tickets has donated a pair of tickets to Game 1 of the NBA Finals in Oklahoma City. Tickets will be upper level between the baskets. This will be an auction with the opening bid starting at $300 for the pair of tickets. All money will go to Hayden’s Hope a charity which helps raise awareness for the need of children’s organ and tissue donation/transplant.

The charity was established by ESPNU anchor Dari Nowkhah and his wife Jenn after their five week old son Hayden passed away while awaiting a heart transplant. The auction will close at 3 p.m. on Monday June 11th.  At that point the winning bidder will be provided a link to make the winning donation. Once payment is made the tickets will be emailed to the winner. To bid, just drop your number in the comments. Please, please, only serious bidders. Please.

If you don’t win the auction but still want to go please call Totally Tickets at 405-295-2222 or visit www.totallytickets.com.

Its still surreal that we're in the NBA finals. As a fan, I think its fun to watch a team so hungry, exciting, and passionate about the game. Like any (pessimistic) fan though, i still have some questions, and hopefully none of these will be issues but i have to ask it anyway

Can Russell improve his decision making? He was better, but end of games he still had some lapses. in the finals, i dont think we can afford that

Can we keep up the intensity on defense? Esp. if we play boston, itll be like san antonio except they have more clutch players and also they have a better defense. Im not saying we cant, its just a question

Is there another level of media scrutiny that the players are not ready for? I dont think this will be an issue since our players are fearless, but naturally they cannot know what the finals will be like.

So far, our talent, great shooting, and inspire defense has been the story. i just wonder about these things, not because i think they will happen, but because im trying to expect the unexpected. We'll see- i just think there is another level of pressure and difficulty, and i hope we handle it just like we did the WCF.

That's great what they're doing for charity, but other than that screw them. I know they're one of your advertisers, but they're the main ones who buy up all the season tickets then sell for INSANE markups. 315R for 392? Those are $10 tickets, the worst in the arena by the way (top of the arena directly behind the basket). $1316 for 112m's? Yea those are 91$ tickets with the playoff markup, 56 reg season.

To me, that just doesn't seem like the "community" that I think of when I think of Thunder fans, trying to rip each other off.

@DennisBerry We don't buy up all the season tickets.   We buy and sell with the market just like most businesses.  Our markup is not what you think.  Many tickets we have on consignment.  Our website also marks up tickets that other brokers own.   For example some tickets we sell for 350 we pay 275-300.    If you wish to discuss in another thread I am always open to do so....however, lets leave this thread for its intention which is to raise money for Hayden's Hope and get a dailythunder.com fan a pair of tickets for the first Finals game in OKC.

@fearthebeard Did you see the little nugget on the Thunder page on ESPN yesterday before the Heat Celtics game that said "Durant and Lebrons first NBA finals." Has me doing a little questioning.

Retail/marketl value is approximately 500 per seat.  If the bidding passes 1000....I will also throw in a pair of upper level center court tickets for next seasons home opener during which you will hopefully see the NBA Championship Banner lifted in to the rafters at the Peake
