This one is a little different for Thunder fans. It’s about Team USA, with three Thunder players, playing Spain, with one Thunder player.
To which, three > one. Sorry Serge. Also, I’m American.
It’s the last tuneup for Team USA before the Olympics start and it’s against the world’s No. 2 team. Spain obviously is very good with the Gasols and Ibaka, but don’t overlook Juan Carlos Navarro, Jose Calderon, Victor Claver, Sergio Rodriguez and others. That’s a very good team and it’ll be a legitimate test for the Americans.
So in those terms, it’ll be a fun game. But it’ll also be kind of fun to see Ibaka try and block one of KD’s shots. And it could be very possible to see a small scuffle — Spain has some feisty players — which would be interesting to see if Ibaka and Westbrook/Durant go at each other a bit.

@thelaughingwiseman ibaka was dominant in the beginning and then did nothing in the 2nd half. KD did nothing in the 1st half and got going a little in the 2nd. Russ had stretches of being great or being bad. James hit 2 3's in garbage time

Good post about work done by players off ball, and also about how looks can give false impressions at times. Worth a read.
I have mixed emotions. On one hand, I want the US to destroy Spain as an American fan. On the other hand, there are these two truths: (1) international team tournaments (like the World Cup, Euro Cup, and Olympics) are awesome and quite possibly the most entertaining form of sport; but (2) they are distinctly less awesome if one team (the USA) completely dominates.
@divisadero I don't think we'll dominate - perhaps if we had Dwight and some of the other A-listers who are injured, we might. However, we're paying with an interesting handicap of no trained bigs. I mean, sure KD and Lebron are big, but they're typically not the banger type that does well in FIBA experience. It'll be an interesting matchup to see.
