August 1, 2011, Kevin Durant did one of those things he often does. One of those things where I know years from now, casually in a conversation, I’m going to say, “Oh man, but remember when KD did THAT?”
He strolled into world-famous Rucker Park and on a random summer night, and proceeded to drop 66 cold-blooded points. Yeah, it came against a bunch of pickup superstars, in a game where nobody was playing defense.
But they were keeping score.
It wasn’t just the 66 though. It was the way the 66 happened. He stopped the game, he was so good. Literally stopped the game. That barrage of 3s that sent mayhem onto the blacktop? Not a single one hit any rim. Swish. Swish. Swish… I. AM. THE BEST. A glorified pickup game against a bunch of streetballers it was, but it was also one of Those Moments. One of those moments that lives forever.
Any time you jump on YouTube and type in “Kevin Durant” the autofill’s second one is “Kevin Durant Rucker Park.” If you just search for KD, you’ll always have “Kevin Durant: Catches Fire in the 4th Qtr (UNEDITED)” on your related videos. It’s just one of those moments you can’t escape, because it was that stinking cool. Here it is a year later and I’m still thinking about it.

First time in a while I've seen Westbrook associated with being passive.
Tidbits found: Westbrook is the worst qualified shooter in the league from just left of a straight-ahead 3 pt shot (at barely over 20%). he is very good from just left of center at the foul line though.

@OBoymuzik @Crow He's very corner 3 averse. Part of it is him rarely having the ball in the corner, part of it is him choosing not to shoot there when he does. (Took 12 corner 3s this past regular season, 10 the the season before).
@OBoymuzik @Crow Its a tougher angle. You pretty much have to have perfect projectile, approximation of distance etc.
He's not a pure or even close to pure shooter.

Random, but: does anybody play pick-up ball in OKC?
I just moved to the City from Norman; I had an alumni-membership at OU's student-gym, and I played pick-up games quite often. I'd like something similar here.
What's the Y-situation? I figured I'd simply get a YMCA membership, but are there any that have consistent games available? Are there any other ideas?
I live in NW OKC, by the way. I'm okay (not great) at basketball, and I can play with all-levels. But high-ish levels of competition preferred.
@D@nny Since you're in NW OKC, you'll want to check out the lighthouse ( http://www.okclighthouse.com/ ) - they have indoor basketball and varying levels of competition. It's well known in the NW OKC area, so it might just be what you're looking for.

@D@nny @MisterJohnsonOKC and I play a'lot. I'm more of a happy medium as far as level goes, but MJOKC is a straight baller(Post man), I usually play off of Kaiser elementary, sometimes OCU, Downtown, and Mckinley park, but just recently i've been balling with MJ at 16th in N Meridian, and those dues are true ballers. Thing is they play true street ball so there are no calls on light fouls which is the way it should be. Just recently we went up to OCU, and i got a group of friends together and we had a real big turn out. Prolly about 20 people showed up to play and we were down there hooping for about 4 hours. Just let me know when you want to play, and i'll let this dude know so we can go as a team and pick up on some fools.

@D@nny @MisterJohnsonOKC There are a number of indoor courts but the best level of competition you'll find will be on outdoor courts but i'm down to play indoor, and i'm pretty sure MJ would be too just as long as we play i could care less where its at and against who.
@D@nny @MisterJohnsonOKC @nny Other then that 16th n Meridian is a real good spot to play street ball, its half court not full court which is good in my book, but it has no street lights so once it gets dark you're playing in the dark. I'm trying to get more people to play regularly at OCU, so hopefully its starts to become more of a hotspot instead of just the occasional students who go up there. We play really physical though, so idk if you like all of that contact. There was a group when we went up there to play Monday who started whining about it. It was MJ, Myself, A buddy and his two little brothers who weren't any taller then 5'4, and both are in middle school. We played full court and not being used to it we got gassed but the guys on the other team kinda were talking a'lot of trash, so the second game MJ and i wen to work on them and pretty much ran them off the court after that.
