Happy Saturday. Thank you for your support of Daily Thunder. Fall!
With the league’s installment of an anti-flopping policy, a lot of players are griping about it. Which tells me it’s probably a really good thing. Watch this mix of flops and tell me that there’s a place in the game for that crap.
(One thing I don’t get though: Flopping rules wouldn’t be necessary if referees could properly identify and not call the faking. How come it’s so hard? Flops are mostly blatantly obvious and yet as you can see in the video, they work a lot.)
Contact simulation in an effort to trick a referee is the lowest denominator in basketball. But if it works and there’s no drawback, why not try? Removing as much of kind of acting that’s in this video is only a good thing.

As for the alternate unis...Me ma is terrible partial to periwinkle blue.
I think Jeff Green might average 13,2, .5 in 22mpg? thats pretty good for him right?
@Bsooreal Far more acceptable, minutes-wise at the very least. 38 was way to high for him.
@ou_sas @Bsooreal
:)
Happy Cold ass Monday fellow DTers!!!!!
Oww wee this weather.
Hope everyone has an effective, productive, and stress-free week!
Regards,
Bsooreal

@JJJ
Simplicity is coming back. (dont ask me how i know that) Soooo i kinda like them. Except this should be OKlahoma blue ( and more orange) i give this a 6.5
@Bsooreal @JJJ I think someone showed it on 2k13 below, but I like it. Still not associating it with 'Thunder' yet, maybe in time.
just waiting for monday bolts to be up soon. need some inside info on training camp
@MrRaysian I'm just keen for anything at this stage. Let's see what magic Darnell has to say... He does his bit for the comments count here I suppose, Jenni too.
@Godofserenity @MrRaysian i'm regretting not getting 2k straight away, but then again it's exams in a two weeks and i'm not making the same mistake i made last year
@MrRaysian @Godofserenity I know what you mean, though depends on what field. Some are more demanding than others for time. Uni's more useful than high school, HSC/VCE only really matters if you need a huge one to get into your course. I found it more useful after I started working and could find ways to apply it instead of just talking about it, so maybe that could help boost your interest in your field.
@Godofserenity @MrRaysian uni, and it's not as easy as i was hoping for. not that i take anything actually seriously but,,,
@MrRaysian Haha, I understand. It's awesome, but will still be awesome in 2 weeks. :-) Uni or HS bud?
Anyone still up?
@ESPNChrisPalmer: The Warriors had a 35-0 run against the Lakers. Preseason or not...
Petty or not this made me feel a little better lol
@supreme35 Wait a minute, Chris Palmer is tweeting about the Lakers?
@Jooseppi @supreme35 !!!!!!!!!!!
@supreme35 playing 3rd stringers vs 1st teamers will result in that occasionally
@kennygee90 shhh don't ruin it.
A heartbreaking 9th inning as an O's fan. Anything funny to lighten the mood?
@supreme35 yea, that sucked big time as an O's fan too
@supreme35 I have a pretty good clitoris/lost golfball joke, but I'm not sure if it would get me in trouble.
@El Prez Lol I'm interested to see where that would go...
@supreme35 @El Prez That joke is older than he is.
@supreme35
Take heart. Sometimes when a team wins Game 1, it does NOT go on to win the series. (Feel better?)
@ThunderChick2010 A little. Us Thunder fans do know this well on the positive & negative end
*Grammar...... sheesh. That's some England I've been typing today.
Grammer joke for ou_sas :)
Alrighty, final one for the night/day before I'm finished at work! A wife asks her husband, a software engineer; "Could you please go shopping for me and buy one carton of milk, and if they have eggs, get six!" A short time later the husband comes back with six cartons of milk. The wife asks him, "Why the hell did you buy six cartons of milk?" He replied, "They had eggs."
@El Prez Sort of related joke but circa 2010: Just been to JB HI FI looking for the game Grand Theft Auto. The sales assistant wanted me to describe it to her. I told her its about a black guy driving around with an iron bar, crashing cars, rooting random girls and evading police. She gave me Tiger Woods PGA tour 2011.
There was this world religious summit. A Jewish leader and the Pope got into a discussion in regards to what religion produced the world's greatest golfers. Back and forth it went till they were both in agreement the only way to decide it would be to have the world's greatest Catholic golfer and the premier Jewish golfer square off in an eighteen hole playoff.
The Pope was so nervous he couldn't even watch the playoff and was given periodic updates by a priest.
Finally--it was over and the priest went to the Pope to tell him of the final result.
The priest approached the Pope and said, "I have good news, and I have bad news, sir."
"My son, by all means, the good news first."
"Jack Nicklaus shot six under", replied the dutiful priest.
The Pope replied, " What could possibly be the bad news?'
"Rabbi Tiger Woods shot eight under."
@ThunderChick2010 @El Prez I think I know what Prez is talking about with the clitoris one, it's not that bad. Merely observational humour regarding the lengths which a mana will hunt for a golf ball vs female pleasure organ. :) But the jack/Tiger joke could be intersting..... (go on Prez!)
@El Prez
Not sure if this is two different jokes. If you think the one referenced below will get you in trouble, it will probably get you in trouble.
@El Prez Fire away Prez, it is Sunday night/Monday morning on......
For the chem nerds: an atom walks into a bar and says to the barman, have you seen any electrons around here?? i think ive lost a few... the barman asks, 'are you sure?' the atom replies, 'im positive!'
I've got a Tiger Woods/Jack Nicklaus joke, but it takes a while.
@supreme35 @ThunderChick2010 Here's a joke that plays off a current hot topic (diff sport but ya know...): An Australian man has been arrested in Italy for an assault on a local man after the World Cup soccer match between Australia and Italy. Witnesses say the Australian was 20 metres away when the incident happened. The victim suffered a fractured skull, a cardiac arrest and has developed diabetes as a result of the incident. He is expected to recover in a few minutes.
Watching OKC vs Utah on ESPN Classic... This team has grown leaps and bounds in two years...
@greatwhitebuffalo is t the game where KD goes nuts?
@OBoymuzik think so.
Well, found the answer to my question: League pass only covers the regular season and playoffs. And according to NBA.com, OKC are only playing one preseason game against CHI on the 23rd? Is that right?
@Godofserenity
http://www.nba.com/thunder/schedule
@ThunderChick2010 Thanks TC! What would we do without ya?
@Stringer Bell @ThunderChick2010 Thanks Stringer Bell! Heading home to sign up now!
@Godofserenity @ThunderChick2010 I have league pass and I've been watching preseason games. However, there are some issues with a few of the games against euro opponents.
I think with the euro games you can't watch live, but you can watch replays... Not sure. I did watch Uncle Jeff's games and he's looking good. Very happy to see he's back healthy from his heart issues.
Well I've gone and wasted anotther perfectly good weekend again. Of course, in weekends as in landing a plane, any one you can walk away from is a good one.
My Thunder/DT predictions for the upcoming week (in no particular order):
- Alternate uniform design will be officially revealed; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
- The Thunder will post lopsided victories over both Houston and Utah.
- Cole Aldrich will manage somehow to show simultaneously both great potential and no promise whatsoever.
- Jenni will write two articles: one telling why Harden will sign with OKC, the other telling why he won't.
- James Harden will sign his contract.
- Some of our missing/semi-dormant long-timers will reappear. (SammyThunderer? Daniel Hawaii? courtsense? Jax?)
- MisterJohnsonOKC will disagree.
- Ou_sas will finally slip up and embarrassingly do a post with a dangling modifier.
- It will rain in Deer Creek. We will know about it before The Weather Channel does.
- Three new posters will appear; one will be literate.
Bring it on! :)
@ThunderChick2010 Agree, Agree, Agree, Stating facts isn't really a prediction, I hope so, Agree, well it's kind of his schtick, Perish the thought, Agree, and if we're lucky.
@ou_sas
Love it.
That was good. I needed a laugh. This weather these last three days has me depressed. I need sunshine. I could never live in Seattle. When gloomy days string togetherl ike this--it seriously affects me. Is that a symptom of being bi-polar? It will rain in Deer Creek this week---I would say Friday would seem likely. I take it you're not a big Jenni Carlson fan. Twenty four turkeys are now coming in for the morning feed. Six deer are coming each dusk as the fall deepens in our Deer Creek Shangrila. It's the Teddy Roosevelt in me. TR was a passionate student of flora and fauna It is why we bought and built on these three acres. The catfish will discontinue feeding in about four more weeks as the water temps start their decline. We should see the sun in Deer Creek tomorrow. Life is good.
@El Prez
Bipolar, no. Seasonal Affective Disorder, maybe. I think you've got a touch of Attention Deficit Disorder too showing in your writing. :) We're definitely stuck in the in-between: the sky won't snow and the sun won't shine. Btw, replied to you last night as did Plainview. (Yes . . . you'll have to scroll down if you want to read it.)
Even with the bad knee--I'm a prodigious walker....like TR. I just don't see any need to walk from Classen to the Ford Center on game night? Why did you delete the post? What did you say? We're you being mean to me?
@El Prez
I understand your aversion to long walks--bad knee and all--but too lazy to scroll? *sigh* Don't want you to strain anything, so here's the paraphrased version . . . I remarked that the scene you alluded to was especially disturbing/weird given the roles Adams and PS Hoffman played in Doubt. Plainview said my assessment was fair and 'not bad' given that I'd only seen the movie once. He called me a nickname that makes me cringe. I told him the nickname has got to go. I also posted another comment just for you, but soon deleted it. It was of vital importance, but I guess you missed it. (jk)
Can't you jist paraphrase up here and save me all that work? You know what you just did with previous post? I'll tell you what you did. You just did a Dave Letterman Top Ten List. Do me a favor--next time you do this...go the whole nine yards with offical Top Ten letterhead and everything. Like this...
From the DT Home Office in Chickasha, Oklahoma
Top Ten Likely Things to Happen on the Daily Thunder This Week.....
I figure if Chickasha has a DT Home Office, then Deer Creek will need one as well.
@ThunderChick2010 you should have guessed that i'll change my username this week.
@OBoymuzik
Does that mean YOU are thunderus? Or perhaps you want to be known as OboyzOld ManzBoy? :)
@ThunderChick2010 lol nope not an alias, just changing my username. Don't like that if you google my twitter handle all you see if a million of my posts from here.
