Jeremy Bauman of Sheridan Hoops on Serge Ibaka: “It’s easy to fall in love with a player as talented and quirky as James Harden and his beard were; he embodied the Thunder tradition and what they were all about… But when you have a 23-year old Congolese native who speaks five (yes, five) languages, who has proven that he’s clearly a quick learner, who is still beginning to scratch the surface of his limitless potential as a forward in the NBA, it should help to ease the pain for Thunder management and fans, alike.”
Darnell Mayberry: “Kendrick Perkins played well again. That’s now two straight games after a dud in Chicago. He had 10 points, five boards and one pretty assist to Ibaka. He also held Anderson Varejao in check, helping to limit the Wild Child to just one offensive board. I wouldn’t make any bold proclamations after two encouraging performance. But it looks like Perk is turning the corner.”
Perk last night on critics: “If you watch the game, and you know the game of basketball, you understand and you can see what’s going on out there. I’m not the guy to be out there fighting guys for rebounds. Our starting five is a pretty good rebounding team…So I’m not really tripping on numbers. At the end of the day, I’m at the stage of my career where it’s all about wins.”
Berry Tramel on Kevin Martin: “And frankly, his offense might be, too. Martin’s efficiency is in the Harden range, and Harden was world class in offensive efficiency. Martin now is averaging 17.7 points a game on 50.7 percent shooting, including 53 percent from 3-point territory. Better yet, Martin is getting to the foul line; 40 times in seven games, a 5.7 per-game average. That was a Harden strength, and he averaged 6.0 last season. The Thunder still misses Harden. The chemistry hasn’t been replaced, and who knows if it ever will? But this much we know already. This basketball team does mighty fine with Martin on the floor.”
The Lakers didn’t hire Phil Jackson, which means this remains locked as the best Jackson moment in Laker history.
Perk’s wife doesn’t seem to love Edmond.
Colin McGowan of Cavs: The Blog: “I expected to spend a bullet point admonishing Kyrie Irving’s defense on Russell Westbrook, but Westbrook’s phenomenal night wasn’t really Irving’s fault. The bulk of Westbrook’s points came either against the Cavaliers’ backup brigade and/or via his uncharacteristically hot shooting from beyond the arc, where he was 4-for-6 (including one at the end of the third quarter from 30 feet out). Not that Irving’s defense was particularly good: a number of times, Westbrook was able to blow past Kyrie with hesitation moves, crossovers, and great bursts of speed. To be fair, Irving did the same sorts of things to Russ. One of the reasons the development of Tristan Thompson the Shot-Blocker is so crucial is because it would do a lot to meliorate the effects of Irving’s lacking perimeter defense. It would make the job of someone like Westbrook more difficult if, once he got past Kyrie, he had to worry about getting his ensuing lay-in swatted away.”

Perk: "I’m not the guy to be out there fighting guys for rebounds."
What a lame horsesh*t excuse. Blocking out helps but rebounding is a key part of his job.
I want to see Lamb play and dominate
Edmond blows. That is all.
@Lamb Fries (AKA Bry Bry) It's beyond me why players would live in Edmond as opposed to OKC.
Oh snaps! Looks like OKC's second unit is even better than last year! Who was giving me crap for saying that last week? Maynor, Ibaka and Kmart are covering Harden's production plus some. It's not quite as exciting to watch but it definitely looks more sustainable than Harden hero balling by himself while everyone scrambles for rebounds. The beard is a force to be reckoned with but the bench looks much more cohesive this year. The scary part is it's only going to get better!
@wudmonster
I don't know that it's fair to say Harden was hero ballin.... he ran the offense and did a good job of distributing the ball.
@Lamb Fries (AKA Bry Bry) @wudmonster It's also a little bit... ok actually very inaccurate, since he spent so much time with the first unit. I'll take 20 minutes of increased first unit production vs 10 of increased second unit production
@Lamb Fries (AKA Bry Bry) True enough. But a lot of times that offense broke down and he bailed them out hero balling. Not saying it was his fault, just that it's more of a team effort this year. IMO, it leaves the Thunder less vulnerable to going down because one of the big three didn't play well. This years team is showing a lot more balance than last years. Call me crazy but I think they'll be even better than last years finals team by the time the playoffs come around. Barring injury of course.
Must say I can't blame Mrs. Perkins for not liking Edmond because it kind of sucks.

@ElMexiThunder
Reposting . . . Not sure if you caught your message from early this morning:
HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY ElMexi Thunder, my beloved DT son! You're everything a virtual mom could want in a virtual kid, and your dad and I are so proud of you. (Just remember that you got all your good qualities from me.) Hope you have a great day and plenty of fun. Don't do anything your dad or I wouldn't do. Actually, don't do anything I wouldn't do and you'll be fine. Make it a good one!
@ThunderChick2010 Awhh!!!! You're everything a virtual son could ask for!!! Sooo sweet!!! I will be sure to enjoy my day!! I won't do anything you wouldn't do, but then againbut as dad would say. What mom doesnt know wont hurt her!!
@ElMexiThunder happy birthday
Woah, I didnt realize Shabazz is uneligible this season to play....is he still projected to enter the draft?
@BallSoHard yes, he will have to play somewhere, missing a season is terrible for development
@Lost Ones I dare not to predict what Presti would do but I really feel we will trade up in the draft to get him. I hope he's as good as everyone says he is.
@BallSoHard @Lost As far as I can tell he's homicidally competitive. Like, Jordan competitive. He's not a great shooter or ball handler, but i've never in my life seen a 2-guard who can dunk as easily as he can. His ceiling is something like an MJ/Shawn Marion hybrid, while his floor is probably something akin to what Evan Turner's done in the league thus far. If he drops I don't think presti would hesitate to grab him.
@BallSoHard Is it the full season? I thought it was just a few games.
@alvarex I'm not sure, I guess NCAA is still deciding. I just read the header and it said NCAA rules Shabazz ineligible. Anyone else find anything on it?
@BallSoHard @alvarex
Sounds like 10 games at most.
The reason why stats at this point in the season mean jack:
After 1 good game, Westbrook went from an 18 PER (a little above average, 3rd on the team) to 23.5 PER (1st).
@alvarex every legit statistician knows you need at least a 30 something sample.
Totally off topic, but does anyone recognize the song they play in the arena coming out of halftime?
@MartzMimic can i get a clip of the song i dont remember what it sound like.
@Lost Ones If I had one I would. Tried to Shazam it, but no luck
@MartzMimic @OBoy @Lost Crowd Chant by Joe Satriani
@OBoy Jones III @Lost Rock. Starts out with a vocals echoing guitar riffs, then moves into some pretty lush guitar chords.
@MartzMimic @Lost what does it sound like? rap? dance?
Last year on his Bday, Westbrook dropped a career high 36 points on Portland.
I know this because Westbrook just tweeted it, which is awesome in itself.

anyone getting black ops tonight?
@bmuelle21 nope full enough with halo 4
@Lost Ones @bmuelle21
OMG OMG OMG how is it?
@Lost Ones @PerkPunt the thing I hated about Halo games is that it felt like you had to shoot people for hours before the actually died.
@PerkPunt @bmuelle21 I love it, and im not a huge halo fan at all. much more accessible then the others since 3.
@bmuelle21
i need to grab a lot of games but the CODs i like to let the bugs get out of the multiplayer before i buy them.
@PerkPunt I know I shouldn't buy it because I have tons of stuff to do but I'll probably end up doing it anyways lol...don't think I'm going to go get it at midnight though.
@bmuelle21 @PerkPunt
Don't wanna be the team to lose first to the winless one . . .
@ThunderChick2010 @PerkPunt or drinking away a Thunder loss...but I like your plan better lol
@bmuelle21 @PerkPunt
You'll be busy celebrating the Thunder win anyway.
@bmuelle21
jk
quick question, I noticed on the MTV website that KD was featured on a show called `Nothing But Net`. When I go to watch it it says I can`t because I am from Canada. I was wondering if anyone could post it on youtube because I have looked and it is not there. Thanks!

@SergeIblocka @fuzzyman
Why is everyone worried about the raptors keeping the pick this year? We don't need the pick for next year, whoever we get would probably just sit on the bench like PJ3 and Lamb. Lets hold out for a top 3 pick from them in the next couple of years.
@SergeIblocka @fuzzyman
I could see them doing what Golden State did last year and tanking to keep their pick
@SergeIblocka @fuzzyman
man that would hurt. I saw that too.
@fuzzyman
will cody zeller be a boss?
