@RRRWHATEVER
And Merry Christmas to you RRR! :)
pregame thread up now
Why do they let the big guys push off so much underneath. Howard was using his forearm to clear space.
Right on schedule another Knick Injury.

god its so corny though lmao
@Legendary_Dork
And that's going to stop you? :)
Artest 16 points on five shots ...wow!
Magic!!! .... How can someone that was so great as a player be so stupid as a commentator...SMH
@bigOkc He doesn't get paid to be smart.
That KD commercial is hilarious!
What are those screens hanging behind Magic and the studio gang. Earler there were 4 of them. Now there's two larger squares. Way early it looked like one huge rectangle. I wonder if that's actually just a green screen camera trick going on there.
@Old Man Game LSD is fun yeah?
@BlueLightSpecial Come to think of it, that explains half the stuff that comes out Simmons' mouth.

Hope you're using a stick . . .
@Legendary_Dork @ThunderChick2010 Um, it's too cold to go outside. FOR ANYTHING.
On the value of the Toronto draft pick: 82games.com posted this article quite some time ago
http://bit.ly/zuzZRV
but they stopped short of doing a regression of the data to find an equation that gives the value of the draft pick but I did. By Scaling RTG to PER, I was able to find a logarithmic relationship to predict the expected PER of the player drafted at each draft position:
PER = -5.648 * ln (position drafted) + 25.2
The top three picks all have PER expected of 19.6 or higher, which is in the top 10% of players in the NBA. The 4th pick, which is the highest that the Thunder can get out of the Harden trade has an expected PER of 18.2 which is a really solid player. However, Hollinger power rankings project Toronto to have the 8th pick in the draft which would expect to produce a player with a PER of 14.03, i.e. a below average NBA player. You might get Andre Drummond at number 9 or Andre Iguodala but usually, it's not a very valuable player. Remember, Cole Aldrich was selected at 11.
@FF_pickups And by the way, I'm sure Justin is on his way to the game right now or he'd be all over this. He's been saying all along we should trade the picks and rookies for a proven commodity.
@Old Man Game
This is one of the reasons why I was pro trading Harden for the number 2 pick but not so high on what we got. Obviously, I would have preferred not trading Harden but if we had to do it, the number 2 pick exponentially better than the number 9 pick. But still, if we extend KMart, then I will still think we got sufficient value for Harden.
@FF_pickups Yeah, no doubt about it there's a major risk here. When you think about it Presti might have tied his hands into paying more for Martin than he otherwise would have with this move. Otherwise he'll look like a clown arguably. Still should get him for less than he was going to offer Harden per your work yesterday.
@Old Man Game
Yeah, I think the trade is fine value for this year, I am just worried about the future. Imagine a scenario where KMart leaves and Jeremy Lamb and the number 9 pick perform as predicted by previous drafts. Then we are substantially worse for the next 3 years after this year.
@FF_pickups Even if it gave you sufficient assets along with pieces you already had (say Perk, Jones, Reggie, or someone else you could part with) that you could trade them and the pick into someone good like Varajao then you'd have to say it was a good move. Particularly if you could also retain Martin. Then you legitimately are looking at being better than you were before it would seem like.
@FF_pickups I'm loving the work man. Keep it up.
@Old Man Game
Thanks!
@ThunderChick2010 @Old Man Game
Absolutley, Lightning and Thunder!
@FF_pickups @Old Man Game
Merry Christmas, FF_pickups! (Are we still DT-siblings?)
Melo with 3 fouls :)
Let's get Lebron a foul and less than 20 points for christmas. Along to go with the big L KD is gonna put in his stocking
That's the worst version of little drummer boy.
something tells me I will be hearing it in my nightmares.@JUNKYARDDOG
Man.... Anthony is unstopable, isn't he, Chuck?
The junkyard dog
@lbst405 Yes?
Melo and Kobe a combined 9-19 for 21 points.....
Lakers are gonna win a few games this year by virtue of having Kobe, Dwight, and Nash, but their D is truly horrible
If Melo ever wins the MVP, I will quit watching basketball.
Do we want the Knicks or Lakers to win?
The mayans? Though I think they already lost.....@Aren't
@Aren't Personally I like the Knicks.
@AIaska @Aren't Knicks but with melo and Kobe having awful games. If it wasn't Christmas I would root for injuries.
@AIaska @Aren't #KD80
@JUNKYARDDOG @Aren't Let em have horrible games KD is gonna drop 100 today and move into first in scoring
@Aren't Knicks for me. Lakers are in the West and the Knicks aren't coming out of the East.
@Old Man Game @Aren't My hate for the Lakers exceeds my hate for the Knicks.
@Aren't @Aren't That too!
