Happy Saturday. Thanks for your support of Daily Thunder. Merry everyone.
I think we can all agree that Wanda is awesome. Next up: A Campbell’s soup commercial with KD, obviously.
Bonus cartoon after the jump:
“It’s like my food, when I play.” — Serge Ibaka on blocking shots

Anyone out there that can tell me Serge's season averages at home compared to away?

I can't get my wife out of the movie screening room. She wants to watch Kathryn Heigl and Jennifer Lopez movies till midnight. I told her this was Night 2-Pulp Fiction of the El Prez Quinton Tarantino Film Festival and she made some comment about Silver Linings Playbook which I can't write on this website. I think I'm going to drug her Dr. Pepper.
as a long time voyeur of DT, he sits there waiting, as there has been no movement in quite some time. He finds a note, with an address, to a location that doesn't exist. Drips of paranoia begin to fall from his brain, slowly trickling down his spine, as his normally clear thoughts turn to irrational images of himself...
@Jsqu@red Who are you? This is an interesting, provocative paragraph. I could visualize myself writing this paragraph.

@d21 Link dont work
"A source with knowledge is situation says Derek Fisher is opting for retirement due to the strain on body and family and he's done it all."
@OBoy Jones III He got a taste of the Thunder, all other teams pale in comparison,
anyone else read about Kobe playing the 3 when nash gets back? with meeks at the 2.
We are better offensive and defensive team when Perkins is on the bench.
@Sigmund Even though that's not our Breaking the DaVinci Code Thought of the Week....I'm giving you a like for the effort.
On the other hand, we are slighty better defensive team when Collison is on the court and much better offensive team.
@Sigmund Collison never plays with Thabo and Perkins together... so he's going to be a part of better offensive lineups.
@justin_mia True, but that doesn't change the fact that Collison is much better offensive player than Perkins.
@Sigmund what else is new
@Sigmund depends on what context it is in defensively, is perkins on the bench when some of the best centers are on the floor?
Lol at Espn and saying Cp3 is in the MVP race.
@JUNKYARDDOG ihave him second behind kd right now
@JUNKYARDDOG He should win it last year.
He should be...
Look, I won't claim to have watched every Sacramento Kings game since Cousins entered the league (I doubt there are any Kings fans who have), but I've seen enough to know that Cousins is a ball hog who is not skilled enough to be the scorer he wants to be. The guy has a quickness or size advantage over almost anyone guarding him, but he is not skilled enough to take advantage. He's bad in the post because he plays below the rim and avoids contact. He's not great at facing up because teams just induce him into shooting jumpshots (as he did against us last game, he should have taken Perkins off the dribble every time). The Kings made a big fuss about putting him in the high post and running offense through him (since he is a capable passer), but again, this just had the effect of inducing more jump shots out of him.
The only thing I can say for Cousins is that he's been capable on the boards, and he's decent at man defense when he's interested. Otherwise, he's a mess of a player offensively who doesn't possess the athleticism or skill to be the player he thinks he is. Some compare him to Zach Randolph, but Randolph was playing point forward in McDonalds All American games and had more skill in his pinkie finger than Cousins does right now. Some team will have to morph Cousins into a defensive oriented big who can bang on the boards and maybe finish some PnR plays. That team is not the Thunder.
By the way, almost all of this is evident if you check out Cousins' progression offensively statistically.
@justin_mia I agree, I would take a chance on Tyreke before Cousins and I probably wouldn't do that either.
@OBoy Jones III I wouldn't take a flier on either one of them . Both of these guys are classic examples of why the one and dones and the two and throughs are not only ruining college basketball, but diluting the talent of the NBA. They don't know how to play basketball.
@El Prez I can see a few scenarios where Tyreke could succeed right now, he needs to play with two other perimeter players that can shoot because he can't and he needs to be able to have the ball in his hands a majority of the time. Maybe some scenario where he's a 6th man and could operate a 2nd unit like Harden did in OKC would work.
At times in the NBA he's looked unstoppable getting to the rim and the Kings haven't helped his development by bringing in guys like Aaron Brooks and Marcus Thorton. I can't really think of many excuses for Cousins besides bad management and immaturity.
bad quality but a taste of lens game http://youtu.be/iYWRIZuVOHk
@Lost Ones Haven't decided between Len or Noel yet. Leaning towards the latter because of defense.
@Lost Ones Meh, I want Shabazz
@JUNKYARDDOG we have enough sgs
not gonna lie, as it stands right now. Dfish could play better than maynor. But..id really like reggie to prosper...i dont think id mind dfish for now though. at least he could be a viable 3 point threat along with martin. Cant be shooting worse than maynor huh?
@Legendary_Dork We have the best record in the league with our backup pg playing like doo-doo water. I don't think presti has much motivation to pickup anyone so long as we have 2 pgs that are likely to get better as the season continues.
@DSYIII @Legendary_Dork You don't pass up opportunities to improve just because you think you're good enough. Whether or not a certain player would help the team improve is a separate discussion.
@Lambchop's Play-Along @Legendary_Dork Playing maynor and jackson, allowing their value to increase, is easily the most prudent decision this season so long as it doesn't hurt our playoff seeding. Every opportunity for improvement comes at the cost of a lost opportunity to improve elsewhere. Improving our 7-man rotation for the playoffs is the only thing that should matter to Presti, and we already have a PG who will be playing 40+ minutes a night.
@DSYIII @Legendary_Dork we have had an extremely soft schedule.
I thought we got a new server? this one still seems to suck
@sexywatt i think its being.implemented or something

No way.
@MisterJohnsonOKC This might be the dumbest thing I've ever said, but I would give up the TOR pick for Cousins, and I'd want him to learn from Perkins. Perkins may be terrible, but I think he'd be excellent in a mentor role with Cousins. Turning the TOR pick into immediate depth with high-upside would be great. Since I'm out on the limb already, I'd want to swap Maynor for Jimmer while we're at it. Give or take TOR + Maynor for Cousins + Jimmer. Let's do it.
@Lambchop's Play-Along talent wise, iknow the trade doesnt make sense, but then who is sacramento kidding, theyre absolutely in a rebuild phase, we could give them a couple picks, and they'd be stocked up on draft picks for the next five years and rid themsleves of their biggest headache. risk is, that he becomes our headache, but man it could be fun if he panned out with us.
@Lambchop's Play-Along @MisterJohnsonOKC
This isn't possible with the salaries.
@sexywatt @Lambchop's Play-Along @MisterJohnsonOKC Thanks Mr. Trade Machine, I'm sorry I didn't get into exactly what the final trade would have to look like. Would you like me to list all the permutations I'd find acceptable where the salaries work? Maybe for extra credit I'll write an essay on trade exceptions.
@MisterJohnsonOKC Obviously a gamble, but I believe our ceiling would be MUCH higher with Cousins. Imagine playing the Heat in the finals if they couldn't double-team without getting burned. I don't think any defense in league history could stop a lineup of RW, K-mart, KD, Serge, and Demarcus.
@DSYIII @MisterJohnsonOKC
our ceiling might be higher but our floor would also be a lot lower.
@MisterJohnsonOKC idk if i would do that, i like cousins and all but he'[s not worth the headache.
@Lost Ones @MisterJohnsonOKC I think he would florish here.

@MisterJohnsonOKC but we could get all of that out of one of our future rookies.
@MisterJohnsonOKC if he fully understood that his role was to rebound and protect the paint i would go for him.
man perk is all over the place
Kendrick Perkins @KendrickPerkins
@VanityHearts5 my wife said she is buying me a poker book for Christmas, because I suck at poker, sooo I'm trading her car for a bike
