Good weekend. Thank you for your support of Daily Thunder. The D is silent.
With some criticism of Russell Westbrook resurfacing lately, I thought it would be interesting to look back and see how far he’s come. Remember his rookie season? He started the season playing behind Earl Watson, then finally took over point guarding duties when Scott Brooks became the coach. He shot under 40 percent, turned the ball over like crazy and while he clearly had upside, nobody saw this kind of upside.

he'd have more assists if he could kick it out to Lamb

If anyone is still around here
Good for Ollie + his handsome mustache: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/8790495/kevin-ollie-uconn-huskies-basketball-coach-receives-new-five-year-contract
Going to be a rough game
@OkcBaby for why?
@AIaska @OkcBaby harden is going to get a lot of bs calls
@Lost Ones @AIaska @OkcBaby in the OKC game we got away with hacking the shiz out of him all game. It's like the refs were on our side
I think that we should trade Toronto's pick for some established players. With the team we have now, we have a chance to do great things. We can't draft players who are unproven and have to develop them. We are then just wasting KD, Russ, Serge and everyone else's youth and talent. The only problem I see with this is when their contracts are done if we'll be able to keep them. I also don't see Stern allowing a powerhouse like OKC to have the 4th overall pick once the lottery rolls around.

Funny. No wonder we don't hear much from him
I think he looks so much smaller in this video, not more muscular.
He seemed to have had a slightly different shot base in his rookie season. He gets WAY more elevation on his shot now.
@CDNBallJunkie I agree. The ball seems to sit differently in his hands too.
WojYahooNBA Y! Sources: With more knee trouble, Minnesota's Brandon Roy considers retirement again. http://t.co/Qf2gziJ4 12/29/12 1:56 PM
CAN'T WAIT FOR HARDEN REVENGE PART DEUX
GAME TONIGHT
My girlfriend and I were visiting family for christmas so we just had second christmas. She got me league pass, a thunder snuggie and thunder struck.
I'M GONNA MARRY HER
@AIaska They make Thunder snuggies? lol
@Tronchaser YES
Going to the big city (Norman) to shop. Someone be ready to give me a full recap of today's goings-on when I return. :)
@ThunderChick2010 Don't forget to go here!

@EatSleepThunder
Thanks. Now I have a mental soundtrack for today.
@ThunderChick2010 Oh.... I guess Perk stole the show.
Or was it Reggie.
Or Collison...
Or Thabo.......
@EatSleepThunder
I barely even noticed him . . .
@ThunderChick2010 Especially the Serge part, right ;)
@ThunderChick2010 KennyGee...sigh.
I'm glad they phased out the yellow on the court. The blue looks so much better.
Does anyone else notice how ungodly more muscular he is since his rookie season? Wolverine definitely put in some work, or got his bones replaced with adamantium. Also, its so crazy to see all those old thunder players.
I say Westbrook TS% would be around 55 if we played small. Lebron, Wade, Bosh all having most efficient seasons of their career.
@Sigmund I actually agree
how long can Russ keep up this form of play? It's just gnarly. I'd like him to develop as a facilitator over time. He's already developing a post game
at their absolute best is there a better pg than Nash offensively...
@kennygee90 Ever? Active? Today? I think you're wrong on all three counts.
@justin_mia I meant today... who do you think is better
@Sigmund @Lost Ones @senseandsenescence yea and i give westbrook alot of credit for that...his one of the best PG's in this league and will go down as one of the best if he stays healthy
@kennygee90 @Lost Ones He hasn't for the last two years.
@Sigmund The only answer is YES!
@kennygee90 @Lost Ones @senseandsenescence Westbrook lead better and more efficient than CP3 and Nash in past three years. Is he better?
@Lost Ones @senseandsenescence then how does nash lead a better and more efficient offense than CP3 every year
@kennygee90 *compared to Nash.
@kennygee90 That's fair. I was mostly mocking some of your prior tendencies to downplay everything but passing from a point guard. If you've come around on that (and not just on your homeboy Magic) then welcome to the club.

That's seasons greater than 45% AST% and greater than 110 ORtg. Team ORtg would be better, but I don't know an easy way to show that in one chart. Gives Magic a fairer shake, but both him and Stockton and Paul look better in this chart too.
@senseandsenescence because AST% doesn't tell me anything other than how much another team relies on their PG for scores...it doesn't tell me whose better...
@senseandsenescence @kennygee90 Never considered Magic Johnson a "pure" point guard in the same reign that Cp3 isn't one.
@senseandsenescence @kennygee90
Even Lakerboy doesn't deserve that one. High elbow to the head....two minutes in the penalty box. Good to see you back though.
@senseandsenescence @Lost Ones @kennygee90 Triumphant return.
@kennygee90 I thought we were just saying things that we blindly believed, not things that were true?
@Lost Ones @kennygee90 Honestly all "pure" point guards tend to be turnover prone particularly early in their careers. Rondo is still pretty bad.
@senseandsenescence if you say so...
@Lost Ones @senseandsenescence okay, but he is still a superior passer and with better vision than every pg in this league
@kennygee90 Well Perkins is a better passer than Magic, so I guess that doesn't say much.
@senseandsenescence yet magic is a better passer than all of em..
@kennygee90 @senseandsenescence you do realize that Magic was incredibly turnover prone in the beginning of his career correct?
@kennygee90 Not even close. Some food for thought: Only Stockton, Paul, Nash and Rondo have ever put up a 50 AST% season. Stockton averaged that over his career.
http://bkref.com/tiny/oqD88
@senseandsenescence @Lost Ones even at pure point guard, Magic is still better....his passing and vision is legendary and in another world even compared to Nash
@Lost Ones @kennygee90 Don't necessarily disagree. Kenny only cares about pure point guards though ;)
@kennygee90 @justin_mia nice way to add another goal post in the endzone.
@Lost Ones @justin_mia i'd take both cause their both really clutch
@senseandsenescence @kennygee90 Pure point guard yea, better point guard nah. I wish we could have seen Stockton outside of sloans system.
@kennygee90 Magic sucks. Stockton is a better pure point guard.
@justin_mia @Lost Ones their skill level, talent and efficiency...who would you take
@kennygee90 @justin_mia Offensively how? based on percentages? you'd rather have nash in the clutch then cp3?
@kennygee90 @Lost Ones Based on what?
@Lost Ones @justin_mia i said offensively? if you bring up defense then CP3 is better, and overall is a better PG but offensively i'll take nash over him
@Sigmund @justin_mia I don't go by advanced stats...any stat that has a pg other than Magic Johnson as number 1 is stupid IMO
@kennygee90 @justin_mia Nash is turnover prone. You do realize Chris Paul is greatest PG of all time based on advanced stats?
@kennygee90 @justin_mia now i see why people hate on you.
@justin_mia offensively???..Nash is more efficient than Paul and is a better passer, more vision and shooter than paul...
@kennygee90 Chris Paul? Hello?
@kennygee90
Has Nash ever played in an NBA Finals?
@El Prez no pg has led hit team to the finals since Jason Kidd
@kennygee90 @El Prez this coming from a guy who says nothing but RINGS when arguing about kobe
@kennygee90 His proper legacy as a player.
@El Prez no...whats that gotta do with anything tho
@kennygee90
I didn't ask if he'd led, I asked if he's ever been on a team which has advanced to the NBA Finals?
@El Prez his*
@kennygee90 Chris Paul is much better. Even better than prime Nash.
@Sigmund you really think his better offensively ...You know Nash has led a top 3 offense the last 10 years
