Berry Tramel says trade for J.J. Barea: “So good, I think the Thunder should trade for him. The Thunder needs a backup point guard. More than that, the Thunder needs some bench strength. The Thunder bench, which has been such a strength for going on three years, has withered. Beyond Kevin Martin and Nick Collison, not much there. Hasheem Thabeet is OK as the No. 4 big man, but Eric Maynor’s return from reconstructive knee surgery has been painfully slow. He’s a shadow of his former self. Sophomore Reggie Jackson shows flashes but hasn’t progressed to where the Thunder can count on him come playoff time. Barea would fill the void. He’s a whisp of a point guard. Not a great facilitator, but OK. An excellent driver and scorer. Circle K would find himself open on the wing often with Barea in the game.”
KD on his technicals: “They should give me a reward for how many calls I think are good,” Durant said. “But they penalize me for the ones I think aren’t. That’s part of the game. I have to calm down sometimes. I get too excited and too emotional in the game and it takes over for the bad when I get those techs … They have a rule about ‘For the Love of the Game.’ You can’t clap at them. You can’t throw your fist at them or anything like that or scream. I’ve just got to calm down a little bit because the refs are doing a great job.”
Kevin Pelton of ESPN Insider: “One of the most important assets the Thunder took to Oklahoma City can’t be found on the roster. Presti, hired as general manager before the team’s final season in Seattle, did a masterful job of accumulating pieces to build around the stars the team drafted in the lottery. Ibaka, for example, was drafted at age 18 with one of the two first-round picks the Sonics got from Phoenix for taking on the final season of Kurt Thomas’ contract. After a year developing in Spain, he quickly proved a steal.”

Perk got it pretty good on Shaqtin’ A Fool last night. He took it in stride too: “That shaqin a fool was so funny, I look like a bone head Lmao”
What basketball in Seattle would mean.
Darnell Mayberry on Eric Maynor: “The Thunder, however, is just 6-4 since Jackson supplanted Maynor and the second unit has at times been just as shaky as it was when Maynor manned the position. But when Brooks recently expressed satisfaction with the job Jackson has done, it left a cloud hanging over Maynor and when he might get another shot to run the show in the second string. In the meantime, the D-League appears to be a logical temporary location for Maynor. No longer considered a demotion, the D-League has increasingly become a hotbed for player development. The Thunder has been at the forefront of the movement.”

Oklahoma’s flying solo in this poll.
Nick Collison on the NBA’s potential return to Seattle: “It’s not a done deal yet,” Collison said. “Those things are very complicated. So I’ll wait and see like everybody else. If it happens, I’ll be happy for Seattle fans and feel for Sacramento fans, because I’ve seen first-hand how hard it is for fans to lose a team. If we go there, it’ll be fun for me to see some old friends. But it definitely probably would be a weird feeling.”

Would Kevin Martin, Kendrick Perkins, and draft pick from Raptors to Lakers for Dwight Howard?
http://dailythunder.com/2013/01/finishing-left-kds-new-move/
Yup. That's the only thing that Perkin's is good for. Looking ridiculous on Sahqtin a fool. SIGH
Rob_McAllister Hand shake deal is what Sacramento & Maloofs had in Orlando, but city would need a billionaire to come up with a big offer soon to save team 1/11/13 3:00 PM
trade perkins
What is the DT consensus on J.J. Barrea in a Thunder uniform?
@twistdov Defense is already bad enough.
@twistdov I think I like him but contingent on dealing Martin for a better defensive SF
@twistdov barf
@f5alcon Okay yeah. me too. I'd have to shower immediately after each Thunder game
@twistdov I'd rather not. Most seem to like him thought, could be wrong.
@twistdov meh.
@supreme35 @twistdov
no
Did the Thunder take any of the rooks to LA with them?
@Tronchaser Lamb and Liggins
@tydude Cool. Hopefully we get to see both tonight. I really liked the defensive spark Liggins provided the other night, and we all know what baaaa-Lamb can do.
@areayewhy @Tronchaser @tydude
or an entree
Lig-a-lamb anyone?
@yehoshuagardner @areayewhy @Tronchaser @tydude laggins? like what happens during the playoffs with lifefyre
@areayewhy @Tronchaser @tydude Liggamb?
@Tronchaser @tydude if only lamb and liggins could be combined into one person.
@tydude @Tronchaserhttp://www.nba.com/dleague/tulsa/oklahoma_city_recalls_lamb_130111.html
They almost beat the Spurs
@okcjim @tydude @Tronchaser
Other than Kobe, Nash, and MWP, we'll basically be playing a glorified D-League team. Might as well let the Brookies have at it.
@Tronchaser lamb :)
Westbrook and Barea on the same back court... I can see that happening. Add in the flop that has decreased since Harden and Fish left, I think we will fill all adequate wholes properly!
Kevin Martin 34.5% on 3's in college.

@MJOKC @okcjim it took Jason kidd more than 10 years just to become a decent shooter
@f5alcon @Fezzy but its whatever, with Donaghy you never know..
@f5alcon @Fezzy that was a lie, he was just going down and wanted to take the league with him..and the feds investigated and found nothing
@kennygee90 @Fezzy Donaghy
@f5alcon @Fezzy who admited?
@kennygee90 @Fezzy so the rigged reffing which they admitted to didn't help?
@Fezzy @f5alcon they were trying to play physical against a team with Kobe and Shaq...that wasn't a good idea..and they had alot of chances to win that game and they lost..the Lakers beat them the next game though so it isn't like it was game 7
@kennygee90 @f5alcon Kenny thats Bullshit and you know it
@f5alcon the kings chocked...
@kennygee90 lakers shouldn't have been in those finals, should have been kings, who would probably not be moving now had they won.
@MJOKC @okcjim yea once he got to dallas he became a 3pt specialist
@MJOKC @okcjim i remember the 02 finals and the lakers gave him that shot ...between 2000-2004 he was under 35%, and teams used to give him that wide open 3 all the time
@MJOKC @okcjim @kennygee90 that was a fluke season...i remember teams would give him that shot and he'd miss it all the time..he was a bad shooter in his prime
@kennygee90 @MJOKCObviously
All of those stats are irrelevant.

@Fezzy Yeah I woke up with a b***hin' headache this morning.

"2. Who's the most underrated player in Friday's doubleheader?
Tom Haberstroh: Nick Collison. Give him the Lifetime Achievement Award for underratedness."
"3. Who's the most overrated player in Friday's doubleheader?
McHale: I will provide my answer in the form of a question: Why is Kendrick Perkins still in Oklahoma City's starting lineup?"
@Fuzzy Logic To McHale: we've been wondering the same thing
I don't care about Perkins being in the starting lineup. What I don't understand is the insistance on him being in the game closing lineup.
@Fuzzy Logic i like this better to question numeber 3 .
Haberstroh: Kendrick Perkins. Perkins advocates point to his outstanding win percentage in the playoffs as a starter. I point to the more outstanding fleet of Hall of Famers that he has been lucky enough to play with his entire career. For the third season in a row, the Thunder have been better with Perkins on the bench than in the game. If he's that good of a leader and that bad on the floor, here's an idea: make him an assistant coach.
The Kings' sale to Hansen-Ballmer in Seattle is a done deal, according to CSNBayArea.com Matt Steinmetz: I've heard from reliable source that the Kings' sale to Hansen-Ballmer in Seattle is done deal. Source said price of the sale is $525 million. The source said further that the Maloofs will have no stake or decision-making with Seattle team and are out
@OBoy Jones III I'm secretly hoping that the new Seattle KingSonics languish for all eternity. Just because. I'm not nice like the rest of you guys.
@OBoy Jones III i hate the maloofs, hopefully seattle is nicer now that they stole a team too.
@f5alcon @OBoy Jones III A team that the people of Sacramento bent over backwards to try to keep
@dollarbillrussell @f5alcon @OBoy i would wait for woj to confirm before believing it
They won't be... they'll continue to play the victim forever because they were "robbed" of the opportunity to watch Kevin Durant live and in person 50+ games a year.
If they weren't such pricks I'd feel bad for them too.
@f5alcon Cousins might be entertaining to watch but far too often it's for all the wrong reasons...
@f5alcon @Fuzzy Logic for these reasons.
1. Demarcus Cousins could do anything at any time
2. I have Isaiah Thomas on my fantasy team
3. I'm the same height as Isaiah
@f5alcon @Fuzzy Logic that sounds pretty entertaining to me.
@Fuzzy Logic they can watch demarcus cousins and will get hometown player isiah thomas
@OBoy Jones III Sucks for the Sacramento fans but I'm happy for the non-jerk Seattle fans. I know we have a couple of old Sonics fans here, thoughts?
@Fezzy @OBoy Jones III It would be a rivalry created by bitter fans. But I do see some FA's might wanting to go to that area and play some ball for that club.
@Fezzy I am selfishly happy because I think the OKC-SEA tension will ease now and just become a rivalry. I was tired of the Sonics-OKC story popping up every time we got deep in the playoffs.
@OBoy Jones III You just know that somehow, the Sonics Gate assholes will spin this in a different light.
