Darnell Mayberry: “Westbrook must have selective memory because he said doesn’t think Stephen Curry “really did too much last time.” That was in response to a question I asked about whether Curry’s performance in the last meeting fueled Westbrook tonight. Westbrook being Westbrook, he dismissed the notion, almost defiantly. But between Curry’s team-high 31 points in that game, and Westbrook having arguably his worst game of the year, it’s natural to believe one was related to the other.”
From Elias: “The Warriors lost to the Thunder by 21 points on Wednesday after taking a 31 point beating by Houston the previous night. Golden State is the first team at least 10 games over .500 to lose games by 20-or-more points on consecutive nights since the Warriors did it on April 1st and 2nd in 2008 (entered the streak with a 45-28 record).”
How things are different for John Hollinger now.
Pau Gasol is out roughly six weeks for the Lakers because of a plantar fasciitis tear in his foot. Another bad break or a blessing in disguise for the Lakers because it means he likely won’t be traded now?
John Rohde on OKC’s free throw competition: “When Kevin Durant and Kevin Martin rose to No. 1 and No. 2 in the NBA’s free-throw percentage standings last week, they started exchanging some playful banter back and forth. They would kid each other on the rare occasions they missed at the line. It was all in good fun in a race to find the superior Kevin. The fun is still there, but the kidding has stopped. You can blame it on Cleveland, where Durant went 13 for 17 (.765) in a 115-110 road loss to the Cavaliers last Saturday. “We’ve been calling each other out,” Martin admitted with a smile, “but (Monday) we decided we’re just going to go back to shooting free throws because he called me out and missed four and I missed one.”
Andrew Gilman of Fox Sports Southwest: “Funny how beating up on Dallas and Golden State in a two-game span does wonders. For attitude. For national perception. For general well-being. Hey, it’s not like these guys are made out of wood. Everyone has feelings, and sometimes a little confidence boost is a good thing – even for a team as good as the Thunder.”
A lovely piece on NBA superstar, Zach Lowe.
Kevin Pelton of ESPN Insider breaks down true player worth: “Having James or Durant on your roster basically guarantees a playoff team, so it’s no surprise that they’re valued at significant percentages of the cap (70 percent for James; nearly 65 percent for Durant). Let’s say Durant and James were free agents next summer and the NBA removed restrictions on individual salaries. In that scenario, assuming a $60 million cap, the most another team could offer would be $54 million by clearing all its contracts and having only 12 minimum-salary spots counting against the cap. Would someone be willing to do that for four years to build around Durant or James? Possibly.”
Watch Chad Peery get his community award. Warning: It may get a little dusty.
Nick Gallo of the team’s website on plays that won’t show up in the box score: “Wonderful pump fake by Westbrook to draw a man, then Ibaka finds space at the elbow for an open jumper. Great toughness by Perkins to tip out an offensive rebound to give the Thunder another possession. Ibaka flies back in transition defense to swat a shot and save a bucket. Unselfishness by Martin and Ibaka to play ping pong along the wing until Ibaka got a wide open shot. Great pump-fake by Martin to give himself space along the baseline for a jumper.”

Move em!
If Knicks-Celtics is a 2-7 matchup i'd take the Celtics.
so far lakers are 8-18 at the free throw line, SHHHESSSH. for being gifted so many they sure do suck lol
OH OH they are 10-20 now.
#PROGRESSION
Speaking of knees, I'm 90% positive I'm going to have to have my Meniscus scoped again :(
@Lost Ones
:(
I agree with chuck, if you hurt sit down
@Lost Ones I also agree with Chuck. If you're scared, buy a dog.
@Lost Ones Everybody tolerance for pain is different! Rondo walked around w/a torn ACL for 2 days.
@Dicharden You can run around with a torn acl and everything but it may cause further damage (ask ricky rubio)
@Lost Ones @Dicharden Ah i didn't know that. My dad has torn ligaments in his knee 3 times and took forever to get surgery after the 3rd one.
@Lost Ones @Dicharden yeah perk had a F#$%ed up wrist, knees, and a torn groin lol
@OBoy Jones III @Dicharden No he was walking on it after damage what you're not suppose to do and tore his MCL in the process. I've played bball with people who have as well.
@Lost Ones @Dicharden Rubio played on a torn ACL?
@Lost Ones There's a difference between being hurt and being injured. If you are hurt, you play. If you are injured, you sit.
@FF_pickups depending on the injury i agree
@FF_pickups @Lost Ones yeah like shaq said, theres anti-inflammatories for that and im pretty sure i heard of perk taking some shot for his pain in his knees
@Lost Ones not happening with kobe breathing down your neck
Is Shaqtin a Fool tonight?
I just tuned in, I gotta ask, what's the narrative that Steve Kerr is spinning on the Lakers disaster? Let me guess, Dwight Howard is talented but it's his fault. Nash is a victim. Kobe is the leader and kind of without fault but he still is a little to blame. D'Antoni is without fault, too. Am I close?
@FF_pickups He said D'antoni was a bad hire basically
@Lost Ones Did he make excuses for Nash?
@Lost Ones When I first turned it on, Nash took a WIDE open 3 from the top of the key and missed and Steve Kerr blamed it on Kobe. "Steve Nash wouldn't normally take that shot but Kobe came to him and told him that they really needed his shooting." Yeah, Nash passes up wide open 3's all the time.
@FF_pickups Yea his age lol
@Lost Ones @FF_pickups Kobe should be player coach.
Crazy end to the Illinois-Indiana game
*Meeks clank*

@OBoy Jones III @Cold-Blooded
And what is TSN again?
@OBoy Jones III @Cold-Blooded
Can you please explain why they don't show up?
I wish we could play defense like that
@Lost Ones Celtics only .5 points per 100 possessions better than us on defense.
@[censored] They have improved since avery bradley has been back
@FF_pickups I'll do this later. LOL.
@FF_pickups I suppose but I really wanted it per possession not per play like Synergy does. Probably the closest you could reasonably get.
@[censored] You know the rate so you can get it from total points / PPP
@FF_pickups Except you'd still need to know how many transition possessions there were.
@FF_pickups Could probably figure it out since NBA boxscores keep track. I guess from there I can do it.
@[censored] Do you have total transition points?
@FF_pickups Synergy has it but only points per play, I want to get points per possession...
@[censored] Where did you get the transition stat from? You could just subtract that from the overall stat and that would be the half court stat.
@[censored] I bet, we are incredibly effective in the half court unless we allow continued possessions; we lose sight on quicker possessions
@[censored] yea, that's =been their philosophy since thibs one that we should preach as well. guys like perkins thabo etc should get back as soon as a shot go up.
@Lost Ones I wish there was a way to find our DRTG in the half court only. I bet it'd be very competitive with the rest of the league, probably top five.
@Lost Ones Boston pays a small price for their defense also in that they are religious about getting about on defense instead of crashing the offensive boards.
@Lost Ones We don't need to - we just need to competent.
@Lost Ones *be
