Darnell Mayberry explores if the Thunder are better this season: “According to a recent survey of NewsOK.com readers, 62 percent of more than 700 polled think the Thunder is worse without Harden. Various other quibbles, such as the lack of a “true” low post scorer, the coach not playing certain players, erratic ball movement and, of course, Derek Fisher’s playing time among other things, has only added to the belief that the Thunder would be hard-pressed to knock off Miami in a potential Finals rematch. Then there’s the matter of whether the team’s All-Star duo is ready to sprout in this year’s postseason and offset any and all flaws, or if the tandem will continue to be handcuffed by their biggest weaknesses. The Thunder, after all, has been plagued at times this season by Kevin Durant’s turnovers and Russell Westbrook’s tantrums. Only 17 regular season games remain in this vengeful journey. Soon, the answer to the only question that matters will be revealed to us. Exactly what are we to make of this year’s Thunder?”
5-on-5 where Israel Gutierrez of ESPN.com takes Westbrook’s season over Wade’s: “And that’s only because you have to take the entire body of work into play. Wade, once he has gotten completely healthy, has been the better player. But Westbrook, despite the inefficient shooting, has had a greater responsibility for a longer stretch of the season and has still kept his team in the running for top record out west.”
Russell Westbrook wants all your pi.
The league hath spoken: Kobe was fouled.
Henry Abbott of TrueHoop on the play: “Who’s next? James Harden sure beats his man off the dribble a lot. How will his playoff opponents handle that? The no-layup rule? That’s a license to kill, figuratively speaking. Derrick Rose knows that upon his return he’ll be facing far more than shot-blockers when he gets into the paint. Kobe, D-Rose, Kevin Durant, D-Wade, Russell Westbrook, Tony Parker, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Ty Lawson, Stephen Curry, LeBron and many more of our greatest players — these are the players the fans want to see. Yet they are not only the NBA’s most precious commodities, the stars who drive the ratings and traffic and revenues and fun, but also the players who are most commonly facing dirty opponents with the potential to end their seasons. Everyone understands that basketball is tough and physical — a contact sport. Everyone accepts that. That’s not the problem Kobe is addressing.”
Zach Lowe’s latest Grantland piece has nothing to do with the Thunder, but man, it’s great.
Rest easy: The Durantula lawsuit is settled.
DeMarre Carroll on if his foul on KD was payback: “I wasn’t even thinking about that,” Carroll said. “My whole thing was just trying to stop the ball.”
Thunder get an A+ from CBSSports.com in their third quarter report: “The Thunder have really been incredible this season, which is in-depth analysis, I know. They gave up a guy who has probably moved into the conversation of being a top-10 impact guy in this league and yet their winning percentage went up. Russell Westbrook has improved, Kevin Durant has scarily improved, and the role players are stepping up consistently.”
Ken Berger of CBSSports.com has LeBron as MVP: “I had Kevin Durant holding a slight lead over James at the midway point, but Miami’s 20-game winning streak and LeBron’s utterly dominant stretch of play has him solidly in possession of a fourth MVP trophy that is now his to lose.”
A nice breakdown of what players can do to combat social media heckling.
Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel: “Rob Hennigan made one of the most important decisions of his life here, just a short walk from where the Orlando Magic will play the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night. He made that decision with Sam Presti, a friend and mentor, by his side. It was 2008, and Presti, the Thunder’s general manager, offered Hennigan a job in the Thunder front office. They walked through downtown, discussing the type of team Presti wanted to build, talking about the meaningful connection Presti wanted to create between the franchise and the city. They eventually reached the Oklahoma City National Memorial, the site where, 13 years earlier, Timothy McVeigh detonated explosives in front the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.”

Move along . . . http://dailythunder.com/2013/03/kd-wants-to-be-like-larry/#respond
host on Sports animal says that Thunder is horrible since the perkins trade the players they drafted were horrible Presti made alot of bad moves and this team isn't that better
@tydude I think we are a bit overrated and will be exposed in the playoffs
@Lost Ones @tydude This I agree with somewhat. Probably lose in WCF.
@tydude 1. Sports Animal = Idiocy
2. Jackson is not horrible. Jury is out on Perry
3. See 1.
@Fezzy they say that drafting Jackson was horrible we should of drafted someone else
@Fezzy @tydude Man Sanders would be so great on this team
@tydude Cole was the mistake. Larry Sanders would have been nice in retrospect.
Westbrook got all the media members panties twisted and butt hurt it's pretty funny.
We all knew the lawsuit was weighing heavily on KD and dragging down his performance. Now that it's settled, perhaps he will start playing like an MVP again.
What are your guys thoughts on the possibility of using some of our assets like lamb/draft picks to move up and get Noel?
@Thunderboss he doesnt impress me
@Thunderboss i think we will take Len
@Thunderboss @okcprophet Should take a center with Toronto and combine other picks for a 3/4
@Thunderboss @okcprophet If we take a guard with Toronto, it'll be asinine. Only if Mclemore falls to number four and that's our pick
@okcprophet I wonder if presti takes player based on our big man need or takes best player available. Last thing we need is another guard, people keep mocking us Syracuse pg and other guards. I don't think that's happening.
@Thunderboss Probably too far to get him, he is still projected top 3
@f5alcon would be nice to get a little lucky with the lottery up enough to grab Bennett from unlv
@Thunderboss @f5alcon I like the idea of giving up one of our other picks to move up to Anthony Bennett (If our pick doesnt end up high enough already), I'm guessing your comparing him to Dejaun Blair? Doubtful, Blair has no ligaments in his knees, Bennett is a pretty dynamic athlete in comparison... It would just be nice to have a big with a go to offensive repertoire... then if we can, with the late first/early second, it would be a dream to draft and stash Giannis Adetokunbo, his ceiling is insane, and he is so young that we could let him develop some in Spain, then bring him over in a few years when his body has filled out and get some of his best years out of him on a rookie contract
He could end up being only as good as Blair. Any guys you've seen this year strike your eye as a future thunder prospect?
@Thunderboss I liked the idea of using picks to move up before, but at this point, I'd rather use all of the picks to get into a place for a good center and a solid 3/4.
Wouldn't touch Lamb and Perry
Why does the OkState game have to be so late tonight...
Giannis Adetokunbo looks like the truth. A combination of Nic Batum and Thabo. Athletic wing with freakishly long wingspan. In this weak draft he might rise into the lottery.
@DXL Really? I don't see him making into the first round
Are lamb liggins and perry gonna be active for our game tonight?
@Thunderboss Right now only Perry
@Fezzy DAMN
http://www.gossipdaily.com/lol-miami-heat-baller-mario-chalmers-shuts-down-two-groupies/
Mario chalmers is my boy (Sorry I know he's a heater but he's from AK)
lol clearly I made the wrong decision by posting this. There's like 3 NBA players from Alaska ever. Obviously I'm not rooting for the heat I'm just happy for chalmers... plus that was a pimp move
#noregrets
@AIaska you guys should stick to hockey lol.
@CLthunderfan This aint canada bro!
@AIaska Mario Chalmers is a douche (Sorry I know he is from AK but he's still a douche lol)
@AIaska So Blake Griffin went to Oklahoma but hes still a clipper
@OkcBaby @AIaska I'm proud of you @OkcBaby
not even mentioning Maynor AND making a good point. Bravo!
Just read a mock draft where we got Willie Cauley-Stein, Dario Saric, and Myck Kabongo.
I think Saric could be like Chandler Parsons, good draft.
And not because they're both white
Miami's 20 game win streak, only 3 wins (Okc, Minn, Chi.) outside of their time zone.
Not one game played in the mountain or pacific zone.
But 20 in a row is 20 in a row and that is an impressive streak.
holy crap ! DEMS SOME UUUURLY BOLTS MAN~!
@Legendary_Dork Early morning tee time = early morning bolts :)
@Legendary_Dork

@Legendary_Dork @SniperJones035 that sucks, I could never do that for a living lol.
@CLthunderfan @SniperJones035 3rd shift
@Legendary_Dork @SniperJones035 graveyard shift??
Does anyone have 3 or 4 tix they need to sell for tonight's game?
Darnell may need to take a break from the Thunder beat. He seems even more manic depressive than some of the crazies on here. He and Jenni should flip spots the rest of the season. Jenni should take over the Thunder beat and Darnell should write the subsequent forty-two stories on Trey Johnson. He seems worn out.
@El Prez
"Jenni should take over the Thunder beat . . . "
El Prez! Are you feeling okay?!
@ThunderChick2010
It appears Russell has worn out Darnell... perhaps Royce as well. Turn Jenni loose on Russ with her Little House on the Prarie schoolroom discipline and see if she can whip Wild Thing into submission in that locker room. If you don't have order in your locker room---you have little if anything.
@ThunderChick2010
Damn...a like Mrs. Daily Thunder. I must have hit nail on the proverbial nail with that one. Royce, blow off these next two weeks and go to Cabo. Justin and I can handle the recap.
