View from the enemy: Magic Basketball

Kevin Durant says this is a “must-win” game. That’s obviously a bit extreme, but here’s why I think he said it: He’s trying to instill a little sense of urgency in his team. He’s noticed them coasting, noticed them slipping in key situations. The focus is inconsistent throughout the 48 minutes and they’re taking things for granted.

An in reality, it sort of is must-win, because the alternative will cause mass hysteria. I think the Thunder feel the angst and concern too. And dropping a third straight game, especially against the lowly Magic, would fire up a lot of freaking out.

Beating the Magic won’t prove anything, but losing might. If that makes sense. And really, it’s about finding that standard of performance again. Besides, the Thunder can’t beat the Spurs or the Grizzlies or the Nuggets or the Heat tonight. They can only beat the Magic. And that’s the mission. Beat the team in front of you and hopefully, play well doing it.

Honestly, just read Dan Devine’s take on the whole “must-win” thing. He explains it pretty well.

Orlando coming in: Lost to the Knicks on Wednesday.

Three Big Things

1. Win.

2. Don’t lose.

3. Score more points than Orlando.

Tip at 6:00 CT. Go Must-Win.

Why would we be worried about Sunday don't we play the Blazers? I mean their starting 5 is pretty good but they have one of the worst benches in the history of the NBA. 0 NBA quality players.

OKC is a miserable 11 for 64 from 3-point range (17%) in their last 3 games. To be competitive in all 3 games despite those numbers is a good thing.

Their season average is 38% from 3-point range.

These are the same shots they've knocked down all season. The offense will look a lot better after this slump recedes.

The only thing I'm "worried" about with this team is Brooks lineup management. Bonus: And maybe Martin not having a big impact on the games, but since he's been getting looks (somewhat) in the fourth quarter, I'm hoping that continues.

And don't have the ability to focus hard on anything else.

Why did Liggins start the 4th at the 4 when he hasn't played in a month? if you're going to play someone there PJ3 makes the most sense since he just played well against them last week and he's actually tall enough to be a 4. Brewer should be the next in line ahead of Liggins and Lamb should also be ahead of him. Lamb should never bein a suit with Liggins dressed out. Never. Especially with Brewer on the team. Brooks is in idiot. To start the 4th up 4 points we had Collison, Liggins (who is a 2) at the 4, Martin (who is a 2), Fisher at the 2 (who should never see the court), and Jackson at the 1. He got 2 of 5 right.
