KD on techs: “He (Brooks) talks to us about it, but during the heat of the moment, it’s kind of different,” Durant said with a smile. “I’ve got 12 of them. I’m not happy about it, but I don’t regret them. I’m just going to go out there and play with that fire I’ve always been playing with and hopefully I just shy away from getting the techs. Whatever happens, happens. Just live with it. Every single moment of me playing in this league, I’m going to cherish it. Try not to take it for granted, I guess.”
Tzvi Twersky of SLAM with a great feature on Russell Westbrook: “There is no irony lost in Westbrook saying he can’t make a mean or scary face. After all, if you entered the Thunder locker room pre-game and saw Westbrook with a towel shrouding his head, or if you watch the Thunder play on national TV, you’d think Westbrook (and not his teammate Perkins) invented the disgusted scowl, invented the hard stare. You’d think that he was an ornery guy who walks around all day with a chip on his shoulder the size of a Larry O’Brien trophy. You’d think that, as one person close to him put it, he looks like a villain. You’d think…wrong.”
Food Republic NBA cereal power rankings have OKC third: “Lucky Charms: The Thunder are both lucky and charming. Lucky in that Portland picked Greg Oden instead of Kevin Durant. Charming in that these guys represent the white hat cowboys of the NBA. They’re flashy but not showy, dominating but not cruel, and seemingly thrive on internal competition. If I were making a feel-good basketball movie, I’d base it around the Thunder. And no, I’m not talking about Thunderstruck. I thought the only bombs Kevin Durant dropped came from beyond the three-point line… Hey-o!”
OKC’s up to No. 2 in Marc Stein’s rankings: “We might have just witnessed the most significant weekend of OKC’s season (or at least the regular season). The Thunder were in a 3-7 road funk before moving to 3-0 for the season against the Clips. Have to favor ‘em now to snag the West’s top seed if Tony Parker indeed misses a month.”
John Schuhmann of NBA.com has OKC third: “The door is seemingly open for the Thunder to get back the No. 1 seed in the West. And no, they should NOT be afraid of a first-round matchup with the Lakers. But including Tuesday’s game against L.A., they have a pretty tough stretch of five games in seven days, which concludes with a visit to San Antonio next Monday. Sunday’s win over the Clips ended a three-game road losing streak.”
Kobe says he would’ve “smacked” Serge Ibaka.
Israel Gutierrez of ESPN.com says OKC needs home court: “The Spurs have the best road record in the league. The Clippers aren’t necessarily affected by where they play. And the Grizzlies have a defense that’ll travel. The Thunder simply have the best home-court advantage of all these teams, and they’ll need it to get past the Spurs this time around.”

I love the refs literally giving the Lakers all their points
Looks like Bob Slow had more in common with most Oklahomans that we initially thought. Beer, guns, dogs and foreclosures - that's our state motto, right?
Well it should be. If the shoe fits...

New threads up. No link because I'm just kind of a maverick and I don't give a shoot
@AIaska sigh alaskians ~.~ lol
Hey, I'm very excited to go watch Bulls - Wizards here in Rio on october! Can't imagine how would it be if the Thunder come here.
@botafogo I'm headed to Rio for the 2014 W.C.
@jthefrank stay until the final match, which will be here. if the brazilian gets there, there will be some crazy people on the streets, ahaha!
@botafogo Haha I got you bud... I'm gonna stay as long as I can.
@jthefrank brazilian team*
The amnesty candidate. Check the resume, starting center for:
07-08 Boston #1 defensive efficiency, NBA championship
08-09 Boston #2 defensive efficiency,
09-10 Boston #5 defensive efficiency, NBA finals
10-11 OKC, #13 defensive efficiency (less than half season with Perk)
11-12 OKC, #9 defensive efficiency, NBA finals
12-13 OKC, #5 defensive efficiency, ???
St
@DXLThe problem is he is a one dimensional center who will make $8.5 million per year when we don't have any money to spend. I can see both sides honestly but it's not cut and dry either way. I like him on the team but I wish it were at a Thabo/Collison cost and that Brooks would use him better.
@DXL dude your seriously getting worse than okcbaby. we understand you have a love affair for perk.
@CLthunderfan Maynor didn't play, and was an obvious candidate to be dumped in a trade.
Perk's resume and contributions are criminally ignored. Amnesty candidate. Ridiculous. Some OKC fans are rubes.
@DXL @MJOKC dude im done with you, closing this thread and going to the other one.
@MJOKC @CLthunderfan Perkins is only useful against 3 teams. Is that a sarcastic statement? Of course not.
It's pure idiocy.
@DXL And certain Ididots cant seem to sense the sarcasm in other people.
@CLthunderfan Um, OBVIOUSLY, there's no agreement about how good a defender Perkins is. Certain idiots seem to think "an office chair" would be more effective than Perk.
@DXL and thats I am refuting you about making 100 posts a today explaning how good of a defender perk here. We all get it perk is a good defender.
@CLthunderfan Idiocy should be refuted.
@DXL ok but theres no need to make 100+ posts a day about the dude, Like seriously.
is metta sitll coming off the bench for LA or Pau? what season is this for them
@PerkPose Also season #8 starts tomorrow
@PerkPose Pau is out with plantar facsitis I believe
The only thing Kobe will be smacking is a stamp of his signature on another divorce check. I find it funny that a fake tough guy rapist likes to talk trash about getting into it off the court but everytime he has on the court you're seeing him taking a good shot or two. Crhis Childs put Kobe on deck forever.
Serge Ibaka would literally destroy Kobe and leave his old ass for dead. Even when Kobe was young---he had multiple opportunities to square off with Artest and in every instance did his chickenwalk dance. In hockey parlance, Kobe is like a guy who goes into the corner, checks a guy from behind...then disappears when the rubber hits the road. He's no Tie Domi or Bob Probert for sure. Artest---to his credit...will at least stay there and handle the situation. Artest vs. Serge would be a helluva fight. I'd pay to see that one.
@ElMexiThunder
Don't forget about Raja Bell
I just want to get a Win tonight..and lets hope we can get it and that our players do great.. let our front office think about the future...It doesn't matter if Perk is or not here next season, I will still be suporting OKC like always..

@MJOKC no, I'm foreign, but I liked OKC since I saw its first season..of course I was delighted with Durant and later Westbrook..and watching the team grow in an unexpected way has really make me happy..
@KD4theWin @MJOKC suarez is the face of Uruguay football now. He's doing great for liverpool also which is my fav premeir league team along with arsenal. But liverpool is struggling tho but Suarez keeps them afloat. He's a deadly striker i must say.
@Blood-Game @KD4theWin @MJOKC really thats great!! I love football men..I bet you have heard of Luis Suarez playing for Liverpool...currently the top scorer in the premier league..

@Legendary_Dork Hey man it's almost time for our tuesday afternoon titty bar meet up! Noon?
DT : from now until tomorrow that shall be known as the "L@kers". do not give them a proper spelling . they dont deserve it.
@PerkPose teh lekars
they
Total ridiculous stereotype: Perk is only useful for guarding big centers like Dwight Howard.
If you've ever watched a game you'd realize the center's job is to shut down the lane. Defend against the roll man, defend against cuts, defend against isolation drives. This is what OKC has done well according to Synergy. Perk gets credit for that.
One on one post defense is a very small part of the game.
Just got back from the bombing museum. That was pretty powerful. That stuffed dog in the cowboy hat was the saddest fucking thing I've ever seen
@AIaska Stuffed dog in a cowboy hat? I've never actually been inside the memorial, but this sounds funny more than anything else.
@dollarbillrussell @AIaska You should probably delete that comment and reevaluate where you stand personally in life.
@dollarbillrussell @AIaska No worries
@jthefrank @AIaska Thanks for the support
@dollarbillrussell @AIaska Well good for you.
@jthefrank @AIaska I'm pretty ok with how I stand personally in life. That was in no way meant as disrespect to victims of the bombing. Thanks though life coach
@dollarbillrussell Yeah but it was a toy covered in rubble that was recovered from the day care and never claimed
@AIaska Ok that makes more sense. I was imagining a taxidermied dog wearing a cowboy hat
