You’ve probably already seen it and heard about it. High school teacher and coach Heath Kufahl drilling a halfcourter to win $20,000.
It’s not anything new. Kufahl is the first this season to make one, but I think the fourth total in OKC’s history. It’s always fun to see it drop, to see the person run around in wild disbelief and then it’s back to the game.
But Kufahl’s story is a little bit different.
You see, he and his wife Jenni have seven children. But to melt your heart even more, Jenni was diagnosed with colon cancer last fall. And as Heath said, that’s exactly where the money is going.
(You can read more about their story at their website here.)
Incredible. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be over here wiping my eyes for the next 30 minutes.

If you were Knicks...would you consider trading Melo? You could get a lot back for him and they seem to play well without him.

@fun police @BallSoHardI agree, Melo is very much a NY Knick as Bryant is a Laker. He played in Syracuse and he's from Brooklyn so unless he is traded to the Nets, I believe he will want to end his career as a Knick.
@f5alcon @GoodKid i remember when he was reppin maryland harder than brooklyn...
@GoodKid He is only sort of from brooklyn, he moved when he was 8 to maryland.
@fun police @BallSoHard
No way because the superstar high usage guys like Melo, KD, Westbrook, LeBron etc. are actually on awesome contracts due to the max contract rules.
@FF_pickups @fun police that's a fairly relative argument

Tyson Chandler should get strong consideration to win another DPOY!!! Luv what he has done for Knicks....
Oh reggie wow. just wow.
@CLthunderfan I still think it's between Garnett and Duncan. I wasn't paying attention to DPOY race lately though.
@Sigmund @CLthunderfan Marc Gasol is the frontrunner in my book, with Duncan second.
@CLthunderfan Reggie hasn't watched the 2nd half of the season
This is how the Hornets blow 20 point leads in the 4th

Never change NOLA.....
well, looks like the Rodman experiment didn't go as planned... lol

@D_Fish's_6th_Ring leave it to Rodman to spark a nuclear war
@BallSoHard That was a tuesday for Rodman back in the 90's
@D_Fish's_6th_Ring .......or it worked perfectly.

Since chances are we are going to re-sign Martin, I'm at the point where I say Presti should just throw his picks at the best project available, slabber them with royal jelly, and Tulsa/Eurostash them.
@Fezzy Gobert/Cauley-Stein are the best bets in that vein.
@Fezzy
Slabber them with royal jelly? LOL. I love it.
Hard to believe Tyson Chandler is only 30. These high school players mess with my head, he's been in the league forever.
@[censored] JR Smith was drafted in 2004. Only 27.
I don't know if any of you guys have heard of TobyMac, but he's one of the most famous Christian singers around and his latest album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200. Anyways, he has tweeted in the past that he really digs the Thunder a lot. But this picture of his boys doing a Nerf slam dunk contest while repping the Thunder is pretty awesome:

@TempBoy Brandon He was at Chesapeake last Saturday for Winterjam. I love me some TobyMac!
@SeanzieCrews Yep, I know it-- I love me some Toby too! I'm an old school dc Talk fan. :)
@TempBoy Brandon his music is pretty good
Austin Rivers is to miss 4-6. Maybe monty will now play anthony davis more minutes. I dont understand why monty wont play him more.
@CLthunderfan Davis has been injury prone. This season is already a bust, so it's more important to attend to the future health of your stars.
Most places don't have a line on tonights game due to uncertainty with Carmelo. The one line I found has OKC -7
@FF_pickups Honestly, I would still pick OKC with that line. The knicks dont match up very well with the thunder and have been struggling lately.
@CLthunderfan If Carmelo plays tonight, I'd be all over the Knicks.
@FF_pickups @CLthunderfan at that line yes. I still think OKC wins but it won't be by more then 7
@FF_pickups I have a feeling this game will be alot like the lakers game.
@FF_pickups Knicks are on a back-to-back. Travelled last night from Detroit.
@FF_pickups who was it? I'm assuming they know Carmelo isn't playing with a line like that, otherwise a lot of people betting assume he isn't and have moved the line significantly.
@D_Fish's_6th_Ring I found a couple more.
Bookmaker, sportsbook.com and 5 dimes all have a line around -7
@FF_pickups @D_Fish's_6th_Ring i'm assuming they know he's not playing. Those are pretty big books. That line seems high even for a team playing the second night of a back-to-back. Especially for a team on the road. Either the books know or the bettors know. Or more likely the bettors "think" they know.
Against teams NOT in the top 14 in overall defensive efficiency (Knicks are 15th overall) OKC has a record of 30 wins and 6 losses (83% winning percentage).
I like those odds. OKC's going to shred Tyson Chandler and the mediocre Knicks defense.

@DT's Most Hated @DXL Remember this is the guy who thinks perk is a better defender than chandler.
@DT's Most Hated @DXL
"I respectfully disagree" ?
Aliens have abducted MJOKC! :)
@ThunderChick2010 @DT's Most Hated @DXL thanks TC, i didnt know who the hell this guy was lol.
@DT's Most Hated We'll all find out tonight exactly how well the New York Knicks and their juggernaut DPOY is playing on defense. Let's see if they can hold OKC under 115.
@DXL True, but I still secretly wish we had Tyson on our team. :)
@Tronchaser @DXL Yeah healthy tyson would have been great, but he did miss 67 games after we rescinded that trade. Plus we would have probably have been better and not have drafted harden and still have green. Or worse green would have not had the physical that found his heart issue and he goes reggie lewis in front of us.
At what point does martin struggles on offense and inability to play defense becomes an issue?
@Lost Ones We didn't trade him so I think we have to ride with him but I don't think he's going to be very good in the playoffs.
@FF_pickups me either, his type of play is the easiest to gameplan for in the playoffs. which is sad because only thing he provides is offense.
@Lost Ones By game 3, the other team will have gameplanned KMart completely out of the equation. You think that they could take Harden out that easily? Not by gameplanning, you need specific athletes to slow down Harden.
@Lost Ones in the playoffs conveniently..
OKC struggles against teams that shoot a lot of 3's.
pts/g allowed winning pct
Against the top 8 teams in 3 pt attempts: 101 58.8%
Against everyone the other 21 teams: 96.1 79.0%
The Knicks are number one in the league in 3 pt attempts.
@FF_pickups Stat cherrypicking at its best. OKC has a whopping 6 losses against those "top 8 teams in 3 points attempts," two of which were the Miami losses.
We will all find out tonight that the Knicks offense looks nothing like the Miami juggernaut.
@DXL Here we go, it's 7 losses in 17 games and given up over 100 10 times against these small ball type teams. How is that cherry picking. I am showing that the Thunder struggle against teams that shoot 3's a lot. Not even make threes a lot, just shoot a lot.
@FF_pickups when we go small, who guards JR Smith?
@twistdov @FF_pickupsThabo
@FF_pickups @twistdovOr Fisher on Melo
@okcjim @twistdov and when KMart is in, play Brewer on Melo and KD on JR Smith.
@FF_pickups It because we collapse too much when the other team drives.
@CLthunderfan @Lost Ones Also, I think part is that we refuse to go small. Most of these teams in the top 8 are of the 4 out one in variety.
@FF_pickups makes sense we are at our best with interior defense.
