The above picture was posted to Kevin Durant’s Instagram account Monday afternoon with the hashtag #NewRules and #RocNation.
So yeah, it’s official: He’s now the first NBA player to team up with Roc Nation Sports, Jay-Z’s sports agency.
“Grateful for this opportunity with Roc Nation Sports,” Durant said in a statement. “It’s go time.”
“He has a 90.5 free throw shooting rate, the youngest player in NBA history to join the 50-40-90 club, a giving individual and a legend in the making,” said Jay-Z. “What more can I say?”
Jay-Z is Durant’s third agent since he was drafted in 2007. Originally with Goodwin Sports, Durant moved to Rob Pelinka last season before moving on to Roc Nation. The reason behind KD’s move is to try and build out his global brand, or at least that’s what everyone’s being told.
Hope it works out.
