From Berry Tramel’s chat: “On whether the Thunder would be more dangerous with a “pure” point guard: Yes, the Thunder would be much more dangerous with a pure point guard. More dangerous at falling out of the playoff race. Pure point guards are great if you’re trying to win Class 2A Oklahoma or the National Christian College Athletic Association title. If you’re trying to beat the Bulls and the Celtics and the Lakers, I don’t recommend a pure point guard who holds up three fingers and tries to set up a play. I recommend a guy who can blow past a defender and get the ball on the rim. I wouldn’t change one thing about Russell Westbrook. Not one thing.” What is everyone big obsession with a “pure” point guard? Who is asking this? Are people this dumb? I mean, really.

Kevin Love won’t play tonight for the Wolves. However, Anthony Randolph is now starting and he went for 31-11 last night versus Dallas.

Darnell Mayberry on how Kendrick Perkins likes Thabo’s defense: “Five games are all it took for Kendrick Perkins to realize what suffocating defense Thabo Sefolosha is capable of. ‘You tend to take guys like Thabo for granted until you’re out there on the court,’ Perkins said. What Perkins has seen in Sefolosha is a perpetual pest, a player who disrupts opposing offenses using skill and savvy, toughness and tenacity. Wednesday’s effort by Sefolosha served as the last shred of evidence Perkins needed to see. … ‘Since I’ve been playing with him, I’ve noticed what he brings,’ Perkins said. ‘He takes a lot of pressure off his teammates. That’s key when you got a guy like that who you don’t have to help as much on. And he’s guarding the best wing man every night. That’s also taking a lot of pressure off (Kevin Durant).'”

Marc Stein talked some Thunder on the radio.

Did everyone watch the newest episode of “The Association”? It’s pretty amazing. It details the day Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson were traded to OKC and even has footage of Perk sitting in his hotel with a Celtics shirt on watching on TV a breakdown of the trade. Crazy. Then it has some nice stuff on Jeff Green getting acclimated in Boston. If you didn’t see, it, you definitely need to watch it.

The Mavs won their 50th game for the 11th year in a row. That’s just insane.

Number crunch on where Russell Westbrook fits in for Most Improved.

There could be some downtime for DT late tonight because the server is being moved or something. Just a heads up.
