What began as Alex Abrines’ best start to a game quickly turned into him laying on the floor grabbing his left knee. Abrines played 12 minutes in the Bucks’ game and scored 12 quick points on 4-6 shooting from deep. His marksmenship blew the game wide open for the Thunder and they never looked back.
With six minutes to go in the 2nd quarter, Khris Middleton and Abrines were both going for a loose ball. Abrines was moving forward and Middleton in the opposite direction. Abrines stayed upright and Middleton dove, connecting briefly with Abrines’ left knee and hyperextending it.
An MRI today revealed it was just a knee sprain and Abrines would be held out of tonight’s game. He is not currently with the team, but that could change sometime during the Thunder’s upcoming 4-game trip.
