Second, again. A third time, in fact.
LeBron James was named MVP for the fourth time, three of those now coming with Kevin Durant as his runner-up. No big surprise that LeBron won — he deserved it — but the shocker here is that it was not only not unanimous, but the lone first-place vote didn’t go to KD.
It went to Carmelo Anthony.
LeBron took 120 out of 121 possible first-place votes and Durant got 93 second-place votes. Meaning yes, there were 28 really stupid people that didn’t have KD second on their ballot.
Also there’s this: Durant got 21 thirds, two fourths and three fifths. And was left off one ballot all together. Holy what.
