It’s no secret how tough a Thunder ticket is these days. So tough even Lil Wayne can’t find one.
Because evidently he needs one if he’s going to come to a game in Oklahoma City.
The rapper tweeted Thursday: “Was going to go to the Thunder game tonight but was denied by the team to be in their arena. Wow. Smh. Go Spurs!”
The Thunder disagreed with Lil Wayne’s tweet initially saying they weren’t aware of the request and then a formal statement was put out by spokesman Dan Mahoney. According to the team, representatives for Lil Wayne called seeking “front row tickets only” for Thursday’s Game 3.
The team responded by saying, “We are completely sold out, had nothing available at all. We would love to have him at our game, but he needs a ticket.”
In a text message to ESPN.com, Lil Wayne said, “They denied me the tix. Didnt want me in their arena. They also said if I do come, I can only sit behind the bench, not on the floor & that I wouldn’t be able to get any special escort nor entrance. They said its the ‘Oklahoma way’.”
Yep, it’s true. Oklahoma’s not all that into entitled celebrities. Unless your name is Charles Barkley, evidently.

This post is really something special and more information gathering by your site and also useful. I want to some more information thanks.

they banned him, telling him that he could only sit behind the bench is just an easier way of telling it to him. what about wes welker and gerald mccoy sitting courtside when they come to games? harden laid down the law and said deuces to that little monkey
@tygablood 2nd row is the same as being banned? Good lord......Thunder, please ban me for life! LOL LOL
http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1686237/lil-wayne-okc-thunder-ticket-snub.jhtml Mack explained that he and Weezy were just concerned about their safety and the safety of the fans. It's hard to imagine that the multiplatinum superstar could just slip in and out of an arena unnoticed. "We're not no prima donnas, but that's just common sense, for our safety and the safety of your building," the Billionaire Minds rapper said. "We were basically just tryin' to take our brother to the game."
Yeah, I'm pretty sure a majority of the predominantly white middle class people people going to the game wouldn't have had any idea who he was and had no interest in him.
[holds sign] will rap 4 tikets
@Barry Amenema "Hey! deze tikets be for da circus! "
What a freaking idiot.
Good thing they left this clown outside - his mere presence in the arena would've reduced the crowd's collective IQ by several points.
He wanted an escort to his seat too? What's he need protection from? Strange looks?
@KellOne Probably all the tween girls with no music taste wanting his babies inside of them.
"Yep, it’s true. Oklahoma’s not all that into entitled celebrities. Unless your name is Charles Barkley, evidently"
Or if you're the singer of REO Speedwagon or were in the movie "Babe" (actually seeing James Cromwell at the playoff game last year was cool).
@purplelvstuff and Cromwell didn't need a front row seat to stay and enjoy the game
all i hear is boo hooo i wanted special treatment and didnt get it waa waaa. screw off lil wayne shesh
That guy's not even that good of a rapper.. Idk why people like him
@loplopol i ask myself that same question. I don't think we'll fully understand.
