According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Jimmer Fredette is very available and could be had for the low, low price of just a 2014 second round pick.
And with his $2.4 million salary fitting almost perfectly into one of the Thunder’s trade exceptions along with still keep them right at the luxury tax line, it seemed like a quality fit. Plus, I’m a massive stan for Jimmer because he’s just super cool. (His name is Jimmer! JIMMER!)
But Sam Amick brings some bad news: The Thunder aren’t interested.
They’re not among the teams in the mix for Sacramento Kings guard Jimmer Fredette either. The fourth-year player had his team option for next season declined by the Kings on Nov. 1, and it still appears likely he’ll be traded by day’s end.
The Thunder still are on the search for a sensible shooting fit, but with as conservative as they are and as reluctant as they remain to give up ANY players, it’s going to take a very specific deal.
