Kendrick Perkins is expected to miss at least a week because of a strained groin suffered against the Heat, the team says.
Perkins, who injured it early in the third quarter of Thursday’s game, immediately checked out of the game. He had an MRI to confirm the injury and will be reevaluated in a week.
Steven Adams is expected to start Sunday against the Clippers and depending on how Perk’s groin heals, could be the starter for an extended stretch.
This week, the Thunder play the Clippers, the Cavs, the Grizzlies and the Bobcats. Three of those teams feature traditional centers, but specifically the Grizzlies and Bobcats would Perk’s services help.
