Per Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, the Oklahoma City Thunder have traded Ersan Ilyasova and a conditional future pick to the Philadelphia 76ers for Jerami Grant. The conditional future pick is rumored to be a heavily protected first rounder (protected 1-20) which will be available in 2o20 at the earliest. Per Wojnarowski, the Thunder have been pursuing Grant for months and finally struck a deal with the 76ers to obtain him. The deal pushes the Thunder $7.1 million under the salary cap and allows them to use that space for future deals.
Jerami Grant is averaging 8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2 blocks on 35.3% shooting in 2 games. Those averages are similar to his 3-year career averages. He’s a long, athletic defender who struggles offensively (hmmmm, who does that sound like?). When the Thunder faced the Sixers in each team’s first game of the season, Grant scored 10 points, grabbed 4 boards, and had 2 blocks.
In three games this season, Ilyasova averaged 5 points and 5.3 rebounds on 25% shooting from deep. He was 0-5 from deep on wide open looks in his last game with the Thunder.
