The Thunder will sign point guard Sebastian Telfair to a minimum level deal, according to multiple reports.
Telfair, 29, spent last season playing in China where he averaged 26 points a game.
The Thunder are looking for a bit of point guard depth after Derek Fisher retired to take over the Knicks coaching job. Telfair won’t be anything more than insurance at the position playing behind Russell Westbrook and Reggie Jackson.
The deal is non-guaranteed (think Ryan Gomes) so it’s really nothing more than a glorified training camp invite.
Under league rules, he can’t sign until July 10 once the free agent moratorium is lifted.
