Per Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times, the Thunder have “interest” in Bucks’ shooting guard Gary Neal.
Neal, 29, signed with the Bucks in the offseason from San Antonio for two years at $3.2 million per. Bringing on that contract would put the Thunder over the luxury tax line (they have about $2.3 million remaining under it) but could include a player — like Hasheem Thabeet — to cut that number off.
With the Bucks being completely terrible, Neal hasn’t fit in quite in the way the team intended, playing in only 29 games. But he is averaging 10.2 points in just 20.2 minutes and is shooting 36.4 percent from 3, plus with his experience with the Spurs, he could be a potential playoff contributor.
There are a couple players that fit for the Thunder right now in their search for a shooter, and as noted a few weeks ago, Neal is certainly one of them.
