After a brief apparent flirtation with Adidas, Russell Westbrook has officially signed with Jordan Brand.
Westbrook, who was a sneaker free agent this summer, has been with Nike through his first four seasons. With Dwyane Wade leaving Jordan Brand to sign with Li-Ning, it obviously opened up a hole that needed to be filled. And now Westbrook will likely be one of the faces of the line.
“We are very excited to welcome Russell to the Jordan family,” said Michael Jordan in a statement. “Russell’s style, both on and off the court, combined with his love and dedication to the game make him a perfect fit for the Jordan Brand We love the drive and passion for basketball that Russell brings.”
Westbrook joins Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony as the top NBA endorsers of Jordan Brand.
Good now that Wade is gone RW can take his place.
Oh, and he won't have to worry about ACL tears due to sticky Adidas bottoms.

@OKman What would being good friends have to do with this being a smart move for Adidas? Just wonder how they planned to market DRose, while also marketing another point gaurd in RW.
@BallSoHarden They have really divergent storylines do they not? Rose as the quiet leader, Russ as the bowling ball of a human. I mean nowadays for Rose it's all about the recovery too. Aside from that, they have a different enough playing styles that I feel like it wouldn't have been an issue.

I'm glad Russ got this out of the way before the season officially starts. The instability and doubt surrounding his sneaker affiliation could've really messed with his head during the season. That's a load off my toad.

I dunno if there is much science to it, but the 'coincidence' of Adidas wearers and knee/ankle/foot problems nagged at me.
Count me among those who are relieved Russ signed with Jordan.
