According to Sports.ru, via a rough Google translation:
CSKA forward Andrei Vorontsevich may enter into a contract in the summer with the “Oklahoma City”. According to Sports.ru the leadership of “Thunder” and the player already has a verbal agreement on the transition.
“It is too early yet to talk about something specific, but interest from clubs in the NBA for Andrei is not only the” Oklahoma, “- commented the player’s agent Nazirov Burgan.
At the same time Vorontsevich now operating three-year contract with CSKA until 2014. At this point forward the process of rehabilitation after back problems. Because of this Vorontsevich not be able to help the Russian team at the training in Venezuela.
First, big fan of putting Oklahoma City in quotes. I think I’m going to start doing that from now on. Second, Vorontsevich is a 24-year-old stretch forward that can score a little inside and out. He’s almost 6-10, 235 pounds and while his numbers don’t impress, there’s something there both physically and athletically.
But it’s just a rumor out of Russia and even if the Thunder did sign him, it’s likely we wouldn’t see him in “Oklahoma City” for another couple of years anyway.

it is the right kind of player to look for but probably not talented enough to make it or make a difference
How embarrassing is it gonna be to hv to watch the festivities! Thurs night!

I just rewatched the extended highlights (every basket) of Russia v USA in 2010 World Chqmpionships. 3 observations: (1) Vorontsevich looked decent. Maybe he could be a decent role player. Nice looking shot and court vision. (2) Westbrook looked waaayyy better than Rose. Rose looked awful and Russ was a spark. (3) Jimmy Goldstein was there. Lol.
man hes only Height:2.04 tall. hes totally not worth it :P
@Legendary_dork so the same number as little wayne's height except in meters and not inches
This is the third rumor about a Euro player (Shved, Pleiss, Vorontsevich) in a month. Doesn't look like Presti will start saving salaries for keeping the big four together.
Bringing in rare talent with cheap contracts is always pretty cool.
@diddoff most or all mostly or entirely made up by agents or writers
"But it’s just a rumor out of Russia and even if the Thunder did sign him, it’s likely we wouldn’t see him in “Oklahoma City” for another couple of years anyway."
Does the NBA have something like future contracts?
@diddoff Well OKC could sign him to own his rights, but he couldn't actually PLAY until he's bought out or not under contract in Russia.
@Royce Young Okay. Didn't know you could gain the rights without drafting them. Thanks
Can he make free throws?
I'm curious. A PF/SF stretch big is what I was looking for last off season. Does he have any offensive skills in the post?
