Thunder PA announcer removed from duties

by Royce Young on May 10, 2012 at 6:13 pm 29 Comments

Thunder public address announcer Jim Miller has been removed from his duties. The team issued this statement:

“Due to the allegations and criminal case against him and until further notice, Mr. Miller has been removed from his duties as Thunder PA announcer.”

According to Fox 25 in Oklahoma City, Miller, a high school teacher and tennis coach at Harrah High School, has a warrant issued for his arrest for lewd and indecent acts with a child under 16.

Documents indicate Miller acknowledged the alleged incidents, but claimed they always happened by accident.

He’s been alleged with three counts. None of them involve students from the school. No charges have officially been filed.

As far as replacements go, expect the Tulsa 66ers PA announcer to fill in.
