To finally complete the James Harden trade, the Thunder selected seven foot center Steven Adams with the 12th overall pick.
According to multiple reports, the Thunder attempted to move up to No. 1 or 2 at the last minute in an effort to select Victor Oladipo, but failed in their effort. In the end, they took the best player available that filled their biggest needs.
In the end, it’s Adams, a New Zealander with a big personality, who is a bit of a project, but might have some of the highest upside of any big man in the draft. Prepare to preach patience.
