Via a team release:
The Oklahoma City Thunder announced today two preseason games scheduled for October. The team will host the Phoenix Suns at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK, on Oct. 19. Later that month, on Oct. 24, the Thunder will play the Dallas Mavericks at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, KS.
This will be the fourth time the Thunder has visited the BOK Center for a preseason game. It will be the team’s first visit to Wichita for a game.
Tickets for both matchups will go on sale Wednesday, May 23 and start as low as $12. Fans can visit bokcenter.com to purchase tickets to the game in Tulsa on Oct. 19. Tickets for the game in Wichita on Oct. 24 can be purchased by visiting intrustbankarena.com.
The Thunder will announce its entire 2012 preseason scheduled at a later date.

sweet. i live 25 min away from BOK
Smart move. I live in southeastern Kansas and work in Joplin, Mo.Starting to see more and more Thunder gear and license plates around here.
It also makes sense from a timing point of view. Where the thunder are in their rebuilding process (just before its over) makes the team even easier to get behind. Makes me wonder about KC and even St. Louis.
There are a TON of OU fans in Wichita but nobody seems too interested in the Thunder. Of course that might have something to do with the fact the city has its own Thunder franchise.
I would think it should be fertile ground for new fans.
Just because this has 0 comments because it was posted right before the Beard's Sixth Man Award, I'm gonna copy and paste what I posted in the previous thread. In case someone sees this later. :)
I can't tell you how happy this makes me. I've been screaming for 4 years that we should market the Thunder more in Kansas.
1. We are by far the closest NBA team to Kansas.
2. They are basketball crazy there, moreso than almost any other state in the country.
3. We have two all-time great Jayhawks on our team.
4. Much like Oklahoma, people in Kansas can appreciate a high character, hard working team like the Thunder. It fits their identity as well.
It reminds me of growing up being a Dallas Cowboys fan. Even though I lived in Oklahoma, the Cowboys made Oklahoma priority because they knew they were the closest team to us and that we were a football crazy state. So today, Oklahoma is still known as being a part of Cowboys Country. Ever since I can remember, every single Cowboys game was on TV because we are a part of their region. I'd love to see that same type of thing happen for the Thunder in Kansas. I'd love to see Kansas be referred to as a part of Thunder Territory 20 years from now.
@TempBoy Brandon Do they see our games on their local Fox Sports affiliate? I always assumed they did in Wichita but I didn't know about the rest of Kansas.
Yes, FSN becomes FSOklahoma during Thunder games. My hometown is in central KS and the Thunder are slowly grabbing more and more peoples attention.
