The Thunder need some quick fix backcourt help, so they’re turning to an old friend.
Via Jared Zwerling of Bleacher Report, the Thunder are set to sign Royal Ivey to a 10-day contract.
Ivey played two seasons with the Thunder, appearing in 59 games. He most recently played with the 76ers in 2012-13, but hasn’t been with a team this season. (He signed with the Hawks in training camp, but was waived before the season started.)
The Thunder have two roster spots open and are looking to add a little depth in Russell Westbrook’s absence. Not exactly the solution most fans had in mind, but Ivey’s addition is a short-term fix, just something to help in the immediate present.
