Bit of good news for the Thunder from Wednesday outside of clinching the No. 2 seed:
Because the Mavericks finished 49-33, placing them with the 10th-best record in the league, the Thunder will acquire their first round pick this season. The pick was top 20 protected, but with Dallas’ finish, the pick goes to the Thunder.
Oklahoma City acquired the pick via the Harden trade after Dallas traded it to Los Angeles for Lamar Odom, and then the Lakers sent it to Houston in the Derek Fisher deal.
The pick will be the 21st pick, giving the Thunder two first rounders in this upcoming draft.
