Tuesday Bolts – 12.22.09

We are three days from Christmas. I’ll take a snappy two-game win streak heading into the holiday if it’s not

too late.

Elie Seckbach talks with Kevin Durant again: “Kevin Durant is among the top players in the NBA, scoring over 27 points a game and trailing only Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James for the most in the league. And yet, when you talk to him, he is humble as ever. In this video, we talk to Kevin about his season, his best Christmas ever and which team has surprised him the most so far.” (video after the jump)

Power time! Marc Stein dropped OKC to 15: “The shocker is not that the Thunder are a helpless 0-5 when their franchise player is held below 20 points. The shocker is that we just saw it happen twice to young Durant in Oklahoma City’s most recent three games.”

SI has OKC at 14: “It’s gut-check time in Oklahoma City. The Thunder dropped four of its last five games and will face its toughest back-to-back test of the season this week: road dates with the Lakers and Suns. They will need to take better care of the ball. Kevin Durant (3.5 turnovers per game) and Russell Westbrook (3.3) have been coughing it up an awful lot this season.”

Dime at 14: “Lost at Denver; lost to Dallas; beat Detroit; lost at Houston – In his last three games, Kevin Durant is shooting 17-of-53 from the field (32 percent). It won’t be easy to get back in rhythm with Ron Artest on the schedule Tuesday night.”

NBA.com at 13: “The Thunder have lost four out of their last five games, with their defense continuing to show signs of decline. They’ve got a 105.7 rating over the last 10 games and visits to the Lakers and Suns on Tuesday and Wednesday won’t help it get better.”

HoopsWorld at 13.

Scott Brooks on Serge Ibaka: “Serge is really coming along and improving every game,” said Thunder coach Scott Brooks. “He’s doing that because he’s working hard. He deserves the success that he’s having. He’s committed to getting better. And James is improving. He’s growing, his confidence level is getting higher and he continues to make good plays.”

Kevin Durant was oddly left off a list looking at who will be the star of the next decade.

KD was honorable mention for rookie of the decade.

A little look at what’s going right in OKC: “But Thabo Sefolosha, a blossoming lockdown defender, might be their best under-the-radar addition. Freed from unrealistic expectations with the Chicago Bulls, the Euro has found his way with Oklahoma City in a shutdown role. Presti, always the opportunist, noticed the swing’s potential and signed him long-term to a reasonable four-year, $13.5 million contract.”

Jeff Green has a review of Avatar for you: “Just saw the movie Avatar..great movie to watch in 3D i loved it…it’s just so freaking long but well worth it.”
