Nick Collison on the standing ovation: “That was awesome,” Collison said. “I wasn’t expecting that. But it was really cool. It’s always good to know that the fans appreciate what you do. You hear it from coaches and other players sometimes. But to know that the fans appreciate it, that means probably the most.”

  • KD is seventh in ESPN’s MVP watch: “Oklahoma City got off to a slow start, but thanks to the play of the league’s leading scorer, the Thunder have won three of four, including an impressive win Monday against the Jazz.”
  • Darnell Mayberry with 10 things we’ve learned 10 games in: “Daequan Cook’s day has come and gone: After coming over via trade with Miami, the fourth-year guard got a good, long look at whether he can space the floor by providing consistent perimeter shooting. But in his more-than-generous, seven-game tryout, Cook struggled so mightily that he has been inactive the past two games. Cook has made just three of 16 3-pointers (18.8 percent) and has only rarely contributed in other areas, especially offensively, recording just three assists and hitting only two shots from inside the 3-point arc. Obviously, there are 72 games left in the season and Cook likely will get another shot. But for now, his time appears to be up.”
  • Art Garcia on Nenad Krstic and the earthquake: “Krstic was looking forward to the NBA season after a difficult summer. He was involved a dangerous on-court fight during a game with Greece — Krstic threw a chair at an opposing player — as Serbia prepared for the World Championship. The timing of the quake couldn’t be worse being so early in the season. A long Thunder playoff run, which Krstic would welcome, only delays his return home. In the meantime, he’ll watch and do all he can from afar. As much as the people of Kraljevo support Krstic, he believes in them.”
  • CBS Sports power rankings: “Cause for concern: Being the league’s worst at shooting and defending 3-pointers can add up to trouble in a hurry.”
  • I bulleted the Bolts today just because I felt like it. Thought you should know.
