Zach Harper of CBSSports.com: “For those not immersed in the Twitter culture, this is known as “subtweeting.” Subtweeting is when you tweet about a person without including their Twitter handle in the tweet, indirectly discussing a possible issue you have with them without making it a direct response. And Durant may have just dropped the biggest subtweet in NBA Twitter history with this one. While Wade’s team did win the 2012 title over Durant’s team, Wade was good but not historically great by any means. He averaged 22.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.2 assists while shooting 43.5 percent from the field. That was his lowest percentage of any round in the playoffs but it didn’t keep his team from wrapping up the Finals in five games.”

Brett Pollakoff of PBT: “Now, this is obviously awesome if it’s not some type of contrived marketing ploy to draw fans in to a beef that isn’t real. It’s worth noting that Wade and Durant were featured together in a popular Gatorade commercial last season, but perhaps equally important is the memory of Durant trash-talking Wade during the 2012 NBA Finals. Durant comes across as sincere in the interview, however, and it doesn’t seem like something that was previously set up. Assuming this is all genuine, it intensifies the feelings between two of the league’s best teams, and two of its biggest stars.”

Bill Simmons tweets: “Show me don’t tweet me. Show me don’t tweet me. Show me don’t tweet me. Show me don’t tweet me. Show me don’t tweet me.”

A note to Dwyane Wade.

The 2015 All-Star Game is set to be in New York, the 2016 one in Toronto.

Aggrey Sam of Comcast Chicago: “Taking his place is Jeremy Lamb, an accomplished collegiate player who the Thunder received — along with Martin — as part of the James Harden trade. Lamb is a bit of an unknown, having only 68 career field-goal attempts and 147 minutes under his belt. Chances are Lamb won’t match Martin’s production from a year ago, and with Westbrook still recovering from the aforementioned knee injury that knocked him out of the playoffs, Durant will be asked to shoot more this season — last year his 17.7 field goal attempts per game were the least he had averaged since his rookie season (17.1); that won’t be the case. He’s been in the league six seasons, but Durant’s potential has hardly been tapped into. His assist numbers have improved the last three seasons as he becomes more of an all-around player, and last year his 5.3 Defensive Win Shares were by far his best as a pro.”

Nick Collison will be hosting a fashion show.
