Henry Abbott of TrueHoop with a lovely piece: “This is a big part of what David Thorpe teaches his NBA clients, and it’s something I find myself thinking about often. It goes something like this: It may appear that NBA games are won with big moments when everybody is looking — dunking over people, blocking shots, hitting a momentous jumper. And once in a while that does happen. But the reality is that many more careers and games turn on getting things right in the millions of small moments when nobody is looking. The big moments will always dominate the Hollywood version of events. But in real life, if you want to do the most you can to get the best possible results, it’s a long game of putting together one solid day of training after another.”

Bob McAdoo: “We got to get there but I still feel OKC is the team to beat in the West,” the Hall of Famer said. “Everyone’s talking about how they got better but I still think (OKC) is the team to beat. They’re still young and got experience of a championship series.”

Andrew Grief of Dime: “Nothing to take away from McAdoo’s opinion but I’m not sure he considered the reason he likes the Thunder so much — their promise of years of wins — is the same reason to hedge a bet on them. The Thunder very much want to win now, but their youth can afford a certain malaise. The Lakers, meanwhile, will be playing with a survivalist’s focus with zero room for error, because they have to win now.”

KD: “Congrats Cam Newton you were my 1st pick(11th overall) in my 2012 fantasy draft..officially signed a 1 yr deal for the Seat Pleasants finest.”

Another Thunder maze.

Very interesting: OKC would’ve passed on Royce White. I have a feeling though if he were there at 28 and OKC was on the clock, the Thunder would’ve been calling his name.
