SCARY GOOD

The Thunder didn't play on Halloween, but they've been scary good through four games. Please don't boo me.

The team announced that Jaylin Williams had a setback and will have is hamstring reevaluated in another 4-6 weeks. On the bright side, Kenrich Williams practiced with the Blue on Wednesday, progressing toward a return.

Paolo Banchero will be out against OKC next week, and will miss over a month with a torn oblique. Huge bummer.

The Thunder cut Alex Reese and signed Malevy Leons, likely to another non-guaranteed contract.

Alex from the YAMology Podcast breaks down every possession of Thunder/Spurs:

The Dunk'd On Podcast also covered the Thunder and Spurs, with a typical in depth look at their respective rosters:

All future rookie options have now been picked up or declined for the year. Luke Adams (HoopsRumors) breaks down the activity:

"We saw more rookie scale options turned down this season than usual, which is perhaps a side effect of the NBA’s new tax apron system that has teams more wary than ever of carrying extraneous salary. It’s also a little unusual to see so many players remain on their teams’ respective rosters after having their options declined. A year ago, for instance, five of the six of the players who didn’t have their rookie scale options exercised ahead of October’s deadline were waived outright, resulting in their options being declined as part of the transaction. That only happened with Griffin this year, and only because he chose to step away from basketball."

Kelly Iko and Andrew Schlect (The Athletic) did a running diary of the Chet/Wemby no-contest:

"Iko: A bad Wembanyama pass leads to a Holmgren steal, which ends up resulting in yet another Dort 3. This one is leaving the station, folks. The Spurs trail 71-52 with 8:35 left in the (third) quarter. It just doesn’t look like the Frenchman’s night."

There were some good Halloween costumes from the NBA last night. I was conned into dressing as the office ass (Donkey from Shrek).
