Berry Tramel (The Oklahoman) writes that the “energy” is different in Chesapeake Energy Arena this season. “There was no boom in Boomtown, and the only thing that might have ignited the gathering into the Chesapeake crowd of old — a dramatic Thunder victory — was not to be.”
Author’s Note: I understand that attendance may wane this season. I would not be surprised if the sellout streak ends (OKC’s streak is the third-longest current streak in the NBA). It’s forgivable for season-ticket holders who have faithfully attended untold amounts of home games to miss a few. But, golly, if you aren’t trying to watch Shai-Gilgeous Alexander on the regular, you’re missing out.
The once and future college coach? Dana O’Neill (The Athletic) ponders whether Billy Donovan could find his way back to the college game. Donovan has rejected multiple overtures in the past.
